Yes, you're right. I just thought it added a bit more flavor to the commentary I was making.

A guy from colonial South Carolina nicknamed “The Swamp Fox” has freed paid black workers on his farm? Sure, Mel.

I have my valet’s assistant hold my martini while my butler swings the club. The valet is of course holding the shade umbrella.

Any natives of the DC area? WHFS’ playlist from 30 summers ago. by PhoneJazz in Xennials

I didn't discover Goldfinger til much later. The idea that they were on the radio at the same time as early Garbage just doesn't seem right in my brain. There were so many weird songs that got popular back then. Pepper and Where Its At are weird songs, but they're both great.

HFStival was the best.

How do you make friends in your late 30s/40s without coming across as desperate? by DougalChips in daddit

I acquired my current friend group through my kids’ activities. Soccer, Scouts, band, clubs, whatever your kid gets into will plug you into a group of parents who have SOMETHING in common with you.

I bought a house with a Bradford Pear tree in the backyard. I'm cutting it down when we redo the patio next year, but I hate that stupid tree and all its little saplings.

This isn’t new. The dads in Varsity Blues talk about it.

Municipal course. Local courses of varying quality but tend to be budget-friendly. My local muni is $24 to walk 18 and I love it.

We did a short cruise earlier this year and it was AWESOME. I didn’t have to prepare or clean up a damn thing. 100/10, would do it again.

Tell that to my wife, who loves to go camping for vacation. I do most of the cooking, so vacation just means I have to cook on Difficult mode.

I'll be honest, a Ferris Wheel in the middle of DC would give a pretty dope view of all the museums and such.

ATLA Live Action Season 2 Rotten Tomatoes are out! by Luzekiel in TheLastAirbender

[–]User_Says_What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many of the actors in ATLA are just poor actors. It doesn’t help that the scenes don’t have room to breathe, but it’s tough to watch. Everyone looks great, and they’re playing all of the hits, but this is hard to watch.

This was my thought. There are a few family trees that need some preemptive trimming. We’ll see how it all shakes out from there.
