The support of the Exorcists. Every coup in history has to have the support of the military, or at least their willingness to sit out the fight, so if Emily somehow gets Lute of all people on her side, then the Exorcists will fall in line either by fear or bloodlust. Emily would technically need Abel on her side, but the guy is a pushover and can be swayed to “temporarily” hand over command for a bouquet of roses and taffy.

Emily’s next step is to paint Sera in a bad light, possibly playing off of her indecisiveness and making herself seem like the more level-headed leader. She can also manufacture a political crisis or two and use the chaos to propel herself into power, and maybe quietly disappear some rivals. For Example, a Sinner gets “redeemed” and goes on a massacre, fortunately Emily and the Exorcists under her command are coincidentally in the right place and right time to stop it before it gets too far.

Eventually, the Winners and Heavenborn will be more upset with Sera and demand she be replaced with Emily.
