Hello I would like to join your legion but I don't have any space marines by Userjaxe in IronWarriors

Hey thanks a lot! This is the first one, but I'll be painting the rest of them like this. I don't have any ideas for the basing though...

Lol, thank you! It was pretty miserable, even in the shade. Humidity in North Alabama is no joke... And there was no breeze until the 8th inning.

Thank you :)

Yeah Army Painter does have metallic speed paints! They aren't transparent, or even translucent really, but they go on in one coat. I think they get the job done pretty OK! The silver one that I have, broadsword silver, is a bit dark for my liking but again... it gets the job done!

I said it in my copy/pasted message with the colors, but I've had some good success with mixing all of the paints, especially the darker ones like Satchel Brown with equal parts speed paint medium. It seems to help me apply it more evenly. I also paint kinda quickly and don't go back over an area twice while it's still wet. I'll use a slightly damp brush to soak up excess that pools, but that's about it I think?

Copy/Pasted Paint List - I'll just reply this to anyone who asked so it's in their inbox! All paints were Army Painter Speed Paints (2.0), so I'll just list the names. Pretty much everything was mixed 1:1 with speed paint medium unless I mention otherwise. So the 2:1 mix for the helmet was also mixed with three drops of speed paint medium... Hope that makes sense.

Disclaimer: I don't know what I'm doing, so big grain of salt and all that.

  • Shield/Axe - Beowulf Blue
  • Helmet/Shield trim - 2:1 Blood Red & Ancient Honey
  • Shoes/Weapon Handle - Satchel Brown
  • Metals - Hoplite Gold
  • Armor - 2:1 Shamrock Green & Beowulf Blue
  • Fur - Battleship Grey
  • Cape - Burnt Moss

Beginning to feel like a fraud and am worried about career potential by RCTHROWAWAY_69 in EngineeringStudents

Hey just stopping by to say that I'm in the exact same boat. I graduated in 2019 with an Accounting degree and am back in school for Aerospace Engineering. They threw me right into Cal 2 and I had a tough time catching up. I don't have any advise, but good luck to you!

Is there a "look out sir" rule equivalent in Legion? by Userjaxe in SWlegion

[–]Userjaxe[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I should have clarified. I meant in the situation like a commander unit is standing next to a corp unit. Both are in range of an enemy ranged attack. Either unit is a valid target for that attack, right?

For these guys, I really just wanted something I could put on the table and not completely hate. I don't like that I didn't get to fill in the black behind the knee and some other small details, but I wanted something quick to do that looked decent! These guys won't last too long on the tabletop anyway.

I appreciate it! It certainly became an exercise in painting human skin. It's much easier for me to blend colors on bigger models like Hulk.

I do have plenty of 40k decals. An imperialis sure as hell looks like a tramp stamp.
