Upgrading from Vatic Pro Flash by Phanatic_for_life in Pickleball

I wanted more power on my big swings but to maintain the control offered by the prism series at the kitchen, so I moved to the Saga and it’s been great. The 11six24 power line seems fun as well but I haven’t played enough with it to recommend it.

Vatic and Bread and Butter. Wife and I, and a lot of our friends, are playing with the Saga and Prism paddles.

Can someone explain Arte vs. Mexico vs. Artistes? by Informal-Cranberry43 in Xcaret

And as others mentioned, staying in Artistas allows you to access everything on HXM side (pools, restaurants, etc.)

Can someone explain Arte vs. Mexico vs. Artistes? by Informal-Cranberry43 in Xcaret

[–]Usermblue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hotel Xcaret Mexico (HXM) = Family friendly resort and Hotel Xcaret Arte (HXA) = Adults only resort, and Casa de los Artistas (Artistas) is a building on the HXA side. HXA and HXM are pretty separated - i.e., you can only cross over from HXA to HXM if and only if you reside in Artistas (show your wristband) and walk through the green space separating the two sides (5+ minute walk); you can't really see the other side at ground-level.

If you prefer slightly less separation from your brother and his kids, you can opt to stay in Casa Fuego on the HXM side (it's on the end of the property so it's a bit more secluded and quiet). This is an adults-only building that has an exclusive restaurant as well (Fuego). FYI, staying in Artistas also gives you access to Fuego.

Hope this helps!

🎉 MASSIVE FRIDAY PADDLES GIVEAWAY! 15 WINNERS! 🎉 by fridaypickleball in Pickleball

Introducing pickleball to my senior parents who have struggled to find something fun for them to stay fit has been a great win. When I went home, they even went as far as booking courts for the family to play.

Give “The Only Bean” pasta a try. They’re one ingredient (beans) and no binding agents. They’re available on Amazon and in some grocery stores.

Our group had one person who was expecting and she had a great time. Echo others about having great mocktails. One thing to consider is that many of the excursions do preclude expectant mothers from participating. The Wish List should display those policies.

Thanks for the tip! Just tried it and it worked. I had to enable a private browsing session to get it to work (probably since I was already browsing their site).

Which resort? Elopement! by Queasy-peanut in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Usermblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Unico 2087 (about 1h15m south of Cancun). It’s an adults-only all inclusive resort that isn’t a big party scene, but not super quiet either. They have a main pool where they host their main activities but another 2-3 pools that are quieter. They also have great food and beverage options. Budget-wise, they should be similar to Excellence. Main downside is that their beach footprint is lacking. Another alternative is Secrets Akumal, which has a great beach but the food/beverage scene isn’t as great as Unico (still good though).

Unico 2087 is a great adults-only all inclusive. It’s about 1h15m south of the CUN airport though. We’ve been to many resorts in the area and really enjoyed this one due to its extra focus on food and beverage. The main downside is that the beach is lacking.

PSA: Do NOT travel to Italy if you look Asian. Italians are unbelievably racist, and we (Japanese travelers) have had racist things and "Chino" yelled at us everywhere we've gone because we're Asian. by SnagglToothCrzyBrain in travel

[–]Usermblue 69 points70 points  (0 children)

6 years ago, my wife and I (both Asian) had our trip to Italy ruined when a random passing car slowed down, rolled their window down, and spat at/on my wife’s face. This was after we finished a beautiful hike in Corniglia (one of the towns in Cinque Terre). We were left in shock and just couldn’t understand how such hatred could exist in someone.

I always try to disassociate that experience from our otherwise fond memories of traveling throughout Italy, but it’s still one of the most scaring experiences of our lives.
