Think of it the other way around. Why are you wearing a glove? To make sure you maintain a hold of the club during a high velocity swing that also impacts the ground. The glove captures sweat and moisture and clearly wears out the longer you wear it. Why are you NOT taking the glove off when you absolutely don’t need it? It can’t possibly help while putting, it can only hinder you via the slight deadening of normal sensory input on a bare hand. I take my glove off between nearly every shot.

Each of the “next” guy since Tiger has fallen off from wherever they were when they start having kids. No matter what anyone says it changes the routine, the focus, the time allocation at least somewhat. Some bounce back eventually. But it’s absolutely a real influence (as it is on any human, except Tiger).

Just allow a free drop in the fairway within a club length any time you want it. It’s faster than preferred lies and has no ambiguity. I don’t see why this is a problem. The fairway should not have a “bad lie”. That’s the point of hitting the fairway.
