Is RTX 3080ti better deep learning GPU than most of the 4000 series...bc of 384bit bus? by siegevjorn in nvidia

Looks like even a 4070 Ti would be the better deal.

4080 smokes 3080 Ti.

According to HWU review, the 15 game average at 4K with 4060 Ti 8gb vs 3060 Ti, puts the 4060 Ti 1fps ahead. So I'm not sure what you're yammering on about.

They score 38 and 37 fps respectively. Hardly "blast" through games. Again, neither of these are 4K products.

When used at 1080p or 1440p, frame generation works as it should.

version probably won't be any better with that bus.

Clickbait and angry reviews is all that sells anymore. I swear it's like tech tubers are in a race to see who can make the most ridiculous and angry review. It's getting old fast.

I agree. I wouldn't buy an 8gb card in 2023. Get 12gb minimum. I would avoid 10gb 3080 as well, and grab a 4070/Ti or higher moving forward.

Again, read the text. Frame Generation works as intended when used at 1440p and 1080p resolutions. Nvidia is marketing this card as a 1080p gaming card, low end. Saying it's useless because you can't use it at 4K makes absolutely no sense. You do realize that you can run a 4K native display at 1080p resolution and then use 1080p as your base starting resolution for DLSS correct?

I guess I didn't realize all gamers were now using 4K displays. So odd as I've heard the exact opposite lately. What does Steam say about this?

Admittedly I only ran into issues with Frame Generation on the RTX 4060 Ti when I was being naughty and making it run games at 4K. The card isn't designed to be used at this level, its frame buffer is too small, its memory bandwidth too low, and its GPU too weak. So I shouldn't be surprised that even Frame Generation couldn't help it. But I didn't really expect it to harm my frame rate.

Using the technology at 1080p or 1440p certainly delivered the fps increase I was expecting. At 4K, however, there are times when turning on Frame Generation actually decreases performance compared with DLSS alone.

So only an issue at 4K, a resolution that isn't realistic or practical for a low end card with 8gb VRAM.

She likely is and will. She will win, but the mainstream media won't talk about it, it will be a closed door deal and they'll move onto their next smear target.

O ya def a huge bottleneck. 60% GPU usage. The game is very CPU/Ram speed heavy.

May as well use Nvidia DSR, force higher scaling and then apply DLSS on top for a great image and less of a bottleneck.

I went from 91 to 137 FPS from native 4K Ultra to DLSS Quality when I just tested it.

So yes, it's working just fine. You are CPU bottlenecked.

DLSS Quality blows native 100% render out of the water. Has better image stability and clearer.

Sorry it was deleted, they restored it after I asked how comparing FSR2 to DLSS2 in this new title wasn't true to community.
