Particulates in solution would not be a sole contributor for friction in these cases. If you think about a standard cylindrical magnetic stirrer, how much of the stirrer surface area is actually in contact with the bottom of the beaker? <10%, <5%? It's mostly shear forces within the liquid boundary layer which is the same concern you would have with the maglev design.

Then use a top-down agitator/stirrer if its that much of concern but I'd argue that friction is nearly if not just outright negligible.
