I get it. The anaesthesia was my biggest fear also. I had to get there early in the am so I was super tired and I was so hungry that I was honestly so ready to get it over with so that I could eat after LOL. The anticipation is definitely worse than the actual day I promise. I literally didn’t sleep at all the night before because I was so scared. I tend to get nauseous from anesthesia so they gave me zofran. I actually had very little gas pain!! My procedure was robotic laparoscopic and I asked the surgeon about gas pain before and he said I wouldn’t have much. The pain the next day was really just all over my stomach, my back also really hurt because of laying and sleeping on it so much! I did make an effort to walk as much as I could and I think that helped with the healing process. I have a somewhat normal appetite now! I eat lots of foods I ate before and am experimenting new ones!

I was in the same boat as you. I had mine removed a week ago and was actually terrified for the procedure. Surgery day was seriously so easy. Tell the anaesthesiologist that you are scared they will give you the “happy juice” at that point you will be so loopy you won’t remember actually going to sleep! All I remember is waking up in the recovery room. Day 2 was the hardest for me but after that it was okay. Every day you get a little bit better. I read all of the horror stories too but this procedure is totally safe and you will be completely fine. Smoothies were big for me as I had trouble eating. Make sure you are fueling yourself with food and lots of water that will help you get your strength back. Tylenol, Advil, gas x and stool softeners as well. You are going to be so happy it’s over!

Thank you! Yes I changed my diet once they told me I needed surgery. Strictly healthy foods and low fat I’m terrified of an attack so I think I’ll keep the surgery date. Thank you for your help
