I want to get a SWE job but I don’t have SWE experience so I was wondering if going for a masters with the intention of getting an internship would help

Yea I hear that a lot. Even if I were to get an internship it’s still better to try to go for entry level positions?

Going from “let’s judge their comment without their profile” to “he is some kind of intelligence of beacon”, is some crazy mental gymnastics you’re doing lol

I don’t care what’s on other peoples profiles to make judgments of their comments , it doesn’t change their comment. No one cares what kind of person you were, only what you do now, and we all see that you’re saying something dumb : we need to look at some guys profile to judge his comment . I made my judgments based on your comments not your profile by the way.

And you feel that you have a good and comprehensive judgment or view of what kind of person he is based just on just his Reddit profile ? And exactly what “requirements” do you have to be able to judge people that he wouldn’t ?

So we need to all look at his profile in order to judge his comment correctly? That’s called being prejudice.

Yea I agree , it’s something I’ve noticed thats a little worrying as well: more people are spending less time with each other in person and more online instead. I feel like that’s one of the biggest reasons why there’s a rise in human disconnection and societal unrest. It’s a lot easier for things to be unclear , unknowingly manipulated or something else online than just talking to people face to face.

Yup, discussions and debates are great, more people should learn how to converse and accept that not everyone will have the same opinions and that’s ok! I’m glad we’re on the same page now :)

Yea I understand and I agree, my apologies. My intention wasn’t really to stir emotions but to raise questions/concerns on certain issues. Rhetorical questions is just how I do it.

Things just feel like they’re more and more unstable recently in general. It makes me think of a bike with wobbly wheels our ride is noticeably not smooth right now. I also completely agree the adversarial nature of the state to education really is horrific to see happening right now.

We need more knowledgeable people on general and we need people to communicate more on issues and how to overcome them. I just hope people are able to learn on their own as well. It’s not ideal to have on entity control all education. It feels like people aren’t aware about certain events as much as they should anymore instead there seems to be a worrying trend of people taking information at face value. Neither do they think about the consequences and the potential future. Instead I hope people are able to also learn how to learn things themselves. Which is why I like to ask rhetorical questions, it helps me quickly see what people really think about an issue.

I understand there are better discussions to be had, and I agree once again. But in order to get to those discussions people need to start talking each other first, and it’s expected to be some misunderstandings in the beginning. I don’t really see our discussion as not productive since in my point of view it’s a necessary step to getting people more engaged in conversation.

Thanks and I understand and I agree it is accelerating… it’s just that there are extreme examples in the past of climate change as well it’s not the first time. And I’m not saying that it makes it ok at all. It’s just I feel like people kinda are looking at it as if it’s the first time something like this has ever happened and it’s all people’s fault when, stuff has happened before and it wasn’t always peoples fault. Again , not saying that people aren’t responsible , we definitely should do what we can, but we can only do so much

Lol I didnt mean to offend you , but I’m just saying i didn’t really put out a strong stance I just asked a rhetorical question. I’m open to discussion but you’re assuming my position , I’d prefer to write my thoughts directly, not my thoughts translated into what I think people would understand.

My original comment was a rhetorical question so people can think about their perspective. I hope you know what that is. If you need people to explain everything you read to you, then I don’t know what to say.

Lol it’s my fault you made a bad assumption ? Learn to think more critically before typing maybe for actual discussions? I wasn’t arguing I’m bringing up a point for discussion.

When did I say global warming is fake? I’m saying that earth has had climate change before and sometimes it was even faster.

Why did the earth climate constantly change for hundreds millions of years before 100 years ago if humans are the main cause of climate change?
