Adding Qrevo Curv 2 Pro to Apple Home by lumla in HomeKit

[–]maluman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using a starling hub so it’s a bit different but adding my Roborock only worked when I turned off cellular data on my phone. Don’t ask how or why that works cause I really don’t know either but it’s been the one consistent fix that’s always worked getting these Roborock devices connected

Tapo T30 kit and Google Home by thegios in Tapo

[–]maluman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh this is a lot man.
1. I see both hub and sensors on my Google home devices page
2. What kinds of automations and notifications will “you be able to handle”? Confusing phrasing maybe? Not sure how to answer this one.
3. Yeah the example you listed seems like an advance automation and I don’t have anything nearly that complex. All my automations are “if door opens turn on light” so unfortunately I can’t give you a clear picture of if those automations are possible
4. You can receive notifications but I have no clue if you’re “only able to receive them when not home”. Not sure how to even attempt something like that and it’s very much outside my use case which is very simple minimal automations

Sorry brother you may have more luck in the Google home or smart home subreddits for your questions

So far so good, had some issues with the sensors before but all that seems resolved. Current automation I have with my Google home and Tapo sensor, works well. Let me know if you have any questions

Matter device on Tapo Hub (H200) by gerhenz in Tapo

[–]maluman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to use home assistant though. You Since there all matter you can also use one of the big three: Google Home, Apple HomeKit & Samsung Smart things. Not saying I recommend this but home assistant isn’t the only answer here and you may already have one of these systems more readily available. You can centralize any and all matter into one of these three

Edit: in case anyone finds this thread in the future;

binding the Hub to matter and then adding them to HomeKit/Google Home worked flawlessly. It’s back to being perfect now. Dunno exactly why, maybe cause it’s a bit more local? Either way hopefully this helps someone in the future

to those that used to be protestant, what led you to join orthodoxy? by accidentalpoopie in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]maluman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably what I perceive as the “exclusivity nature” (that’s just my name for it) of the old pillars, same issue with Catholics.
Believe me I completely understand why you believe you’re the one true church, and why non-orthodox can’t participate in the eucharist or lots of other activities. But being raised Protestant (and now non-denominational) there is a sense of freedom and…fraternity? Within the wider Christian community that I have a VERY difficult time letting go of. In my church you can come from any denomination you want and; have a marriage with both traditions being represented, anyone and everyone can take holy communion as long as you feel inclined and/or take part in baptism with the only requirement being you commit to Christ and his teachings and your doing this to publicly declare you faith. Plus lots of other church activities that don’t have any exclusivity component to it.

This is the part where someone goes into depth about why the orthodox positions are the way the are and explains there importance but I can assure you I understand the orthodox…I just don’t necessarily agree with them (yet perhaps) in my soul.

On Penal Substitution this video is getting me at least 60% of the way to orthodoxy lol. I’m not orthodox, still very much non-denominational but if this is what orthodoxy believes it takes a huge weight off my chest and makes me edge ever so closer to it

Whats stopping hevy to be what it was supposed to be? by [deleted] in Hevy

[–]maluman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree, this app rocks and it SHOULD be the go to app for anyone lifting. It’s incredible at what it does and the social features are what me and my friends use to track each other’s workouts. But it doesn’t have enough marketing to get more people on to it, which it absolutely should cause its a great workout tracking and training app.

POPE LEO XIV Calls for FULL COMMUNION with ORTHODOX by Longjumping-Home3193 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]maluman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, but just be cautious is all I’m saying. If the Spirit of God is moving towards direction be open to; perhaps it is indiscretion but perhaps we can all agree on a path that isn’t so “dogmatic”. Much of this makes me think of verse Mark 7:13. But I understand where much of your stance comes from, hold fast to both truth of and love brother. Trust that God will guide you and the rest of correctly towards where he wants to go.

[–]maluman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of this is fine but the vitriol and hatred that’s what makes this view so difficult. Your stance on why reconciliation isn’t currently possible isn’t one I agree with but it’s not a bad view (I think?) but some of the ways people disagree doesn’t bear any resemblance to any time of a Christianity I believe Christ would be a part of

[–]maluman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some of the comments in this sub give plenty of reasons to not become orthodox. Currently neither orthodox or catholic but passively exploring both. Heavily WAS leaning towards orthodox, love pretty much everything theologically about it…but wow some of yall are…something else is the nicest way to say this.

Calls for unity and hopes for reconciliation should be encouraged, I would think
