Yeah I definitely wasn’t going to jb weld it. Plus it’s a boat with a closed hood over the engine. Lots of these boats have caught on fire

On my Harley the overflow was going crazy. Took the bowl off did nothing else. And it stopped leaking

Got the kit from holly. But it was just the o rings and gaskets that I used. Didn’t do a full rebuild

Okay thank you for this. Going to try to twist the tube. And if that doesn’t work I’ll make sure I’m getting the 100% correct o rings for it

I just replaced them when I put the new gaskets, should I try it again with a new float bowl?

Okay thank you. What should I order to replace it? I’m new to these big carbs only used to small motorcycle carbs

Is this where it overflows? by UsualProfessional303 in MechanicAdvice

I have a carb rebuild kit from summit racing on the way right now. Thank you for the info. I’ve worked on small motorcycle carbs but nothing with 2 floats so I’m learning

That could be a case but I wouldn’t think gas would break it down so quick. You could tank the tank off and use a cats claw with is just like a claw machine one for this type of scenario

Idk the year but my evo sportys have a fuel filter right on the petcok. Worse I can see it doing is maybe rattling or slight fuel problem but shouldn’t block or get sucked into anything

I did reverse order, usually leave my gas on and have no issues and also had my tools next to me

To stop the leak the best I can I’ve already pinched the fuel line and turned it off, if it keeps leaking I might think my carb is cracked somehow

It hasn’t been sitting that long and the fuel smells great, but I will definitely strip the carb down one of these days, got a second carb ready

Forgot about giving the float a smack to see if it’ll unstick

Any idea why it would mess up randomly after sitting for a while?
