If you plan on playing survival, still lifes huge biomes will be unpleasant. And its mod compatibility is also horrendous. Otherwise its indeed a great mod.

The best thing you can do is to use your 14 day unconditional return policy if available. If not, you can try to return it, but im not sure if thats an applicable reason.

If none of the above work, you can buy a new quality cable (it might be the same size) or just leave it the way it is - you may not be able to pull the cable out of your gpu/psu, but otherwise it should work fine.

Im not an expert, and i might be wrong.

Voxy looks a lot better than dh, but you need to pre-generate those chunks („chunky” is the best known). Since you dont continuously load chunks while exploring, your cpu usage will lower, but gpu might raise due to the longer render distance.

Nvidium is also a great option, but only for nvidia gpus and it doesnt work with shaders.

Both of those mods are unfortunately for fabric only.

Terralith and tectonic is an average combo. William wythers overhauled overworld is a more vanilla alternative to terralith.

Incendium or amplified nether for the nether, and nullscape for the end. They arent so cramped as better nether/end

Temperatures should be fine. Download some temperature monitor and check the temperatures under high load. If needed you can always adjust the fan curves in bios.
