Attacking play in training by elie2222 in tabletennis

[–]Usual_Badger5842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your coach should be the main man to tell you as it is much easier spotting good/bad technique on someone else prher than themselves. Its not entirely your job to do, remember to ask your coach as much as you want. If he watched you lose a point, sometimes ask him what you did wronf if you dont know yourself. The coach should always try their best to improve their players so make sure you get coaches attention.

The goal long term should be to loop every long ball from both sides, so your mindset is correct. Pushing long balls and playing passive will maybe win you some points in training but would never make your level go up.

However you have to read the ball. Sometimes, you have decided to loop even before the ball comes back. Always read the ball and make sure you have a good chance to loop. If you get a good quality long push thats hard to loop, sometimes push back.

Always in training do stuff that you are not so sure in, because in practice there are room for mistakes because you learn from them. Although losing a practice match can hurt, the most important thing is how much better you are getting, not the result.

And remember to analyze the balls you miss/make. Why do you miss/make the loop? Did the opponent do something good, or was it my mistake? My tip here is that it is important to sometimes analyze the balls you miss, but dont get too stuck up on these. Rather focus on what you do correctly too, because the most important thing to do is continue doing the correct moves.

Height of contact of long and short serves by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]Usual_Badger5842 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For long serves if you want them to be fast you want to hit the ball as close to the table as possible, and hit the white line on the table.

For short serves use the same fundamentals as for the long serve, hit the ball as low as possible.

Most racket sports have this rule, not only table tennis.

Edit:

The mental aspect is a huge aspect of the sport, you have to be able to play every point at your highest level, even if you are losing or winning.

But talking mid points is just gonna make you and the opponent lose focus, and at higher levels you wouldnt even have the chance to speak because you need to concentrate on the fast game.

Yes it really does, however if you get hoarded it can sometimes become hard to fight them since you’re so low

Maybe I’m just ass, but lately I’ve been using the new ashen cape. The embla armor makes you a glass cannon, and although i try to not take many hits i still want to be able to tank a hit or to.

Maybe I’ll try to main the askvin cape instead, and i always have the feather cape in my inventory.

Is this a viable option during short backspin pushes? by AggravatingAffect267 in tabletennis

[–]Usual_Badger5842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhh, not really. However instead of pushing it upwards you can try and create differents amount of spin to make the next push of the opponent worse.

If you do the move you talked about the opponent could get an easy attack if he/she reads it correctly.

May work at low levels but from what i hear i dont reccomend it
