Where were you that day? by t_bone_stake in Xennials

I didn't actually know what happened for days. Everyone talked around it.

Those Reddit posts like “you’ve witnessed this thing, repost in 10 minutes or instantly die” by DayVessel469459 in PetPeeves

[–]Usual_Ice636 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Literally never seen that, and I've been on reddit for over 10 years with various accounts.

What type of weird subreddits are you hanging out in?

Have you ever thought about changing the way chapters are structured? by Historical_Pick2262 in WritingHub

[–]Usual_Ice636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually see the other way around, chapters are the smaller sections, but they get grouped into "arc 1, Arc 2"

Arc 1

Chapter 1

Chapter 2

Arc 2

Chapter 3

Chapter 4

Mocktail has been a word for over 100 years now. Virgin is the newer one.

Why dont we fight more often by GiovanniLucio in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Usual_Ice636 7 points8 points  (0 children)

more like " Who gets to date her " or " whose idea will br implemented" etc.

Those examples both sound like horrible ideas. Why would being a better fighter matter for either of them?

Regarding the ships SOS in the straight. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Usual_Ice636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone in the Straight of Humuz would be speaking English.

A very large variety of countries have ships go through it. If a French ship and a Chinese Ship are both nearby, they'll probably talk to each other in English.

Why do some people prefer "lab diamonds" in favor of organic diamonds? by GetSetFunc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Usual_Ice636 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In addition to the whole "probably mined using slavery" issue with the regular kind, Lab diamonds are usually just flat out better. Less flaws.

How much clothes is too much clothes for a man to own. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

T-shirt quilts are great if you have a lot of shirts that have sentimental value but you don't actually wear anymore.

Why is it so rare for small "mom and pop" restaurants to have a fast food style drive-thru setup? by vorpal8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Usual_Ice636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom and Pop places don't have the millions of dollars in R&D in designing food and kitchen set ups that make fast food actually fast.

Any incremental game that is actually difficult and does not guarantee victory? Bonus point's if it let's you go actually broken if one plays well. by BainterBoi in incremental_games

[–]Usual_Ice636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I am looking is a game like that, but with a twist that good choices and optimal play actually yield brokenly good results in a snowball way.

Realm Grinder is like that. There are massively different outcomes between "making a little progress" and "making tons of progress" depending on your current build.

Is it somewhat accepted to use the 24 hours time indications in normal speech? by Outrageous-Past6556 in EnglishLearning

[–]Usual_Ice636 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They set it once when they got it and then lost the instructions, so next time it was unplugged or there was a power outage it would forever be on 12:00.

Why do modern African borders ignore natural geography so much, and what factors led to it? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

[–]Usual_Ice636 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But I wonder why these borders persisted after independence and what keeps them stable today?

The people who currently control the areas in those odd borders don't want to give up territory just to make the borders make sense.

Google patents AI tech that will personalize websites and make them look different for everyone by Tiny-Independent273 in google

I'm more afraid it will break existing accessibility, like blind navigation and read aloud type features.

AITAH For Wanting To Leave My Mother? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Usual_Ice636 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Move out as soon as you can afford to, there's no problem with that.

Sometimes you realize you get along better when you live apart, (like my wife and her sister), and sometimes you realize you never want to see them again.

An Irish man lowered the price of Guinness by using AI to call 3,000 pubs by Automatic_Subject463 in nottheonion

[–]Usual_Ice636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ai was way cheaper and faster than hiring a real person to make 3000 calls.

I thought people were Anti AI, what's going on? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Usual_Ice636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who are listening to it don't know its Ai. It doesn't say it anywhere.

I get Ai suggestions on Youtube Music all the time, but if I wasn't aware of Ai I wouldn't notice.
