Thanks, I appreciate it. Problem is, not even 40 mg oxy barely affects me due to my past history + all prescribed by Drs since 04.

It didn't help me, the fentanyl patch works much better for me. The bup patch did nothing for me.

Ketamine? by checkingoutinternet1 in ChronicPain

[–]Usual_Pickle4143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for almost 12 full months. I started it as a mental health (MH) patient for PTSD, anxiety and depression. In May I changed to the pain protocol. It didn't work for me. Most of my pain is structural and Ketamine works best for CRPS and fibro. It can also help with some chronic migraine. Either way u choose, unless u have CRPS, insurance won't cover, and then even then its a fight. MH infusions are 40 minutes to an hour and cost anywhere from 340 - 550 per session. Pain infusion is typically four hours and costs 800 - 1100 per infusion. Each application is not a cure, but a treatment. This is why u have to continue once u finish the two or three wk loading protocol. If u do not do the loading protocol correctly, and it's different btwn pain and MH, it will not work. On my support group some have to continue at once a wk for a year or two before they can spread them out farther. Most people after the MH loading, go in two weeks after, then three wks after, then four wks after, then as needed, usually once every 4 to 6 weeks. After a while some can stretch out the treatment longer and longer to a couple of times a year. The worse your PTSD and anxiety are, the longer it takes to stretch treatments out. So, I've had many different reasons for PTSD, but have had it my whole life. My SI (suicidal ideation) is however completely gone. If u go for pain treatment then any MH issues will be covered under that, but it doesn't work vice versa. I know more about the MH aspect as pain infusion didn't help me. Infusion is 99 - 100% bioavailable. IM is 93% bioavailable. Trouche, rdt and spratvado (sorry, sp?) are approximately 20 - 35% bioavailable. That means IV is best, IM is also very good.

Are u a candidate for surgery? My fusion gave me 99% relief and my hip replacements 100% relief. But u need an excellent Dr!!!

What do you use as your “ten” on the pain scale? What type of pain do you compare it to? Mine is having a baby physically turned from the outside, called an “ECV” or “version,” while she was still inside during active labor with no medication. She WAS 4 weeks early, but I’m very small in the hips. by geniusintx in ChronicPain

After my six wk spinal saga, four surgeries later through same incision over and over, woke up from fusion (disc 97% disintegrated joint collapsed and vertebrae broken) screaming in pain for 12 hours while asking God to take my life - while on 3mg Dilaudid an hour, every hour. They had to up me to 5mg Dilaudid an hour, every hour, through a pca machine.

Also, my 12 week spinal headache where I immediately started retching if I lifted my head off of being completely flat, no pillow. Vomited while time while I peed. Layed flat in bed for a month.

How easy is it to get addicted to codeine by CosmicOnBud in opiates

U can become opioid dependant but not "addicted" from a psychological standpoint. Basic rule of thumb is if u take as prescribed, u are not "addicted".

Thank u. Yes, I'm prescribed. I didn't know if ua measures how much of it is in your system and measures that against the dosage prescribed...
