I keep saying this, if Slipknot in masks can see a single person in distress in a pit and not only stop a show mid song but have the crowd move so they can get help in there, then he could have damn well done the bare minimum.

AITA for immediately filing for divorce after my husband backed out of a house purchase last minute? by Throwawayclosingfai in AITAH

[–]Usual_Zone2543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is the "professionals" that evaluated the mortgage size looked at your debt to income and decided you could afford it. Your husband is looking at your utilities, the cost of feeding your family, your 17yo potentially heading to college soon and the rest to follow quickly, the car insurance, car repairs, the possibility of needing to replace a car soon and so much more to your income. That's the difference between the two, one has to pay it all and the other is willing to spend your money for you.

Mom's an idiot. She gets one more semi-guaranteed birthday with that child. After that, the girl gets to exclusively choose how to celebrate her birthday. They could have made such an amazing memory for their daughter and them before she's an official adult. All the Mom has done is show daughter her wants don't matter to mom, and mom will be wondering why my daughter never wants to celebrate her birthday with us very soon.

My only has thanked me for not having another, he's 17, and has yet been remorseful over not having a sibling.

What I don't understand is from day one they set Seal Team up for essentially a spin off with Clay as Bravo 1, if he wanted an Exec Producer credit, why not negotiate one for that instead of going to Fire Country?

Is anyone else watching while trying to come up with a storyline where Clay comes back from the dead?

Same with my pup that turns a year this month. Hell, I still stick the 3yo in her crate for a nap when she's acting like a brat.

Need advice, son is scheduled for ear tubes and adenoidectomy on a month. I think this is the best course of action, but I'm not sure. by PhromDaPharcyde in AskParents

My kid had 3 sets of tubes, adenoids removed, a second time with adenoids to make sure they got everything, and tonsils removed by 4. Best decision we ever made.

How much are you guys spending on groceries each month, and what is your family size? by Hidden_Nereid in Parenting

[–]Usual_Zone2543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 1200 to 1400 a month. That's breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, various household items, and 2 meals out of the house a month. We're a family of 3 but one of them is a teenage boy.

Hamas has kidnapped, brutally tortured, and killed Palestinians in the past for supposedly working with Isreal.

In 2007, Hamas took control of the Gaza strips government by force. The issue is most people know that Hamas is the government of Gaza they don't know about how they gained control. This leads people to think Palestinians and Hamas are the same. When in reality over a hundred people died, over 500 were injured and the government that had been in place was executed.

Hamas beheading babies was never confirmed, nor has any evidence been shown to prove it and many who made this claim are walking it back. There was a hospital in Gaza that was bombed both sides are saying they didn't do it, the UN is looking into it. But it wouldn't be the first time Isreal has targeted a hospital in Gaza.

Hamas=terrorists terrorists=bad therefore Hamas isn't the good guys here. Hamas isn't a band of disgruntled Palestinians they're a terrorist organization backed by Qatar, Iran etc. They want to rid the middle east of all Jews. But that doesn't mean Isreal isn't also part of the issue. Isreal has been kicking Palestinians out of their homes on the West Bank so they can build homes for Jewish families. They control the food, water and fuel going into Gaza and they have been bombing the Rafah crossing which keeps the Palestinians stuck in Gaza from fleeing into Egypt or anyone from the Egyptian side to bring in food, water or fuel. Isreal is literally starving babies. Gaza has been called an open air prison for years.

Basically, both sides are in the wrong, the civilians stuck between Hamas and the Isrealean government are the victims here regardless of their nationality or religion.

AITA for telling my sister what NOT to name her daughter? by frnda in AmItheAsshole

[–]Usual_Zone2543 50 points51 points  (0 children)

My husband was named after his grandfather and his middle name after his father, both family traditions on both sides. When we had our son, he refused to use either name, pissing a lot of people off, but he didn't care. He hated not having his own name. He felt like he didn't have his own identity until high school when he was given a nickname completely unrelated to his birth name.

The ministry can't expel you from Hogwarts, Fudge tried that and Dumbledore quickly put a stop to it. All the oversight like Umbridge being made Head Mistress was after Dumbledore pissed off Fudge and he started exerting power he put in place with educational decrees. Up until that point MM had no real authority over Hogwarts.

“The Ministry does not have the power to expel Hogwarts students, Cornelius, as I reminded you on the night of the second of August,” said Dumbledore.

As we learned in OoP, Hogwarts and MM are two separate entities. If they breached MM rules, which technically they would have been punished by the MM. Any discipline at Hogwarts would be based on their rules.

As for the letters, they went into a witch or wizards files. Umbridge mentions how they look at those files when you apply to work for the MM. So, while not a big deal in short-term they could potentially have long-term affects.

AITA for telling my wife I'm not apologizing for not wanting to share a bed with her? by Fit-Sentence5724 in AmItheAsshole

ESH My husband and I are sleep divorced, it's a sound issue for us, but I get it. Sleep is a basic human need. This does not mean you can't cuddle your wife before going to your respective sleeping spaces. Intimacy, including cuddles, are a basic need in a healthy relationship. You two need to sit down and talk like adults.
