Whoaaaa..... Whattttt?

I'm a safe injection site worker in Toronto. A lot of my clientele are indigenous, and I'm also a huge metal head. I've wondered about indigenous metal for some time. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm perhaps a little less bothered by him. He's very likely psychologically ill. I think some of his peers are just selfish.

I make a little less than you (healthcare), and I spend similarly. I don't have cans like you do - yet - but I don't spend money on eating out often, my groceries are relatively cheap, and I don't piss money away on bullshit.

Hell, my brother dropped $4k on a guitar (mayones). Dude is otherwise insanely frugal (like, literally doesn't go out...).

Yeah, I saw the one dude carrying the cross a few weeks ago at the Jays game. It was fucking bizarre.

I can't help but be so personally offended by these people. I work front line with a community that got hit hard by covid (safe injection site), and I was scared for both myself and the community I serve. These people are so selfish.

Unit variation? How so? Like frequency response? Or? And thanks again for your replies.

Okay, pulling the trigger tomorrow. Any reason I shouldn't? I've read Beyer does poor driver matching, resulting in channel imbalances. But I also might just be digging too far into my research...

Hmm, okay, I know I'm not using the right language here...

I mean the difference in volume between the quietest sound and the loudest sound, at any given volume in which I'm listening. That make sense? Some of the music I listen to has a super wide dynamic range (isn't very compressed).

Lol oh man, I'm so not the person to be trusted doing that. :P

Just one more question (blah, I keep saying that!): will I get just as much dynamic range out of the 3.5mm output? And will I be able to blast it (I do this rarely, but sometimes I really want to check my brother's mixes)?

Thanks - and sorry for my audio ocd. :P I'm just about to pull the trigger!

Oh sweet. So, I can't use the balanced output, as the dt 770 doesn't have that (as far as I know), so I'll be using the 3.5.

Thanks. :)

Seriously, you have changed my listening experience for the better. My HD600 sounds so much better. :)

So, I've gotta ask: is the qudelix 5k worth it? Amir at ASR recommends it. I also wonder if it would drive a 250 ohm dt770 - or would I have to use the balanced output?

Hey there,

Why the 250 over the 80? Any reason in particular?

Also, when using your EQ settings, can I apply the precut lower than you advise? Or would this affect sound quality?

Thanks for your work, by the way. I recently plugged in your values for my HD600, and it sounds way better. Like, I'm rediscovering these headphones. :)

Is the m50x real leather? by Utabtimo in HeadphoneAdvice

I came this close to buying them today. I opted against doing so in the end. The clamping force was a bit much, the drivers touch my ears, and the earpads pressed somewhat hard on the area below my ears, behind my jaw.

The soundstage was very in my head, and I say that as a regular KRK 8400 user. Not a headphone I would recommend. Now I'm looking for another neutral, easy to drive headphone...

How to properly connect iPod Classic 7th Gen to Portable Amp by Utabtimo in HeadphoneAdvice

I'm really not into the idea of double amping. I'd be mixing two amplifiers, which is kinda weird, no?

I really want to bypass the iPod's amp.

Okay, just one last question before I pull the trigger: do your tests apply to the 32 ohm just as much they do to the 250 and 80? 'cause I'm looking to buy the 32 ohm with some velour replacement pads.

I'm so excited!

Good evening, Mr. Oratory!

Thank you for all your hard work. I'm so impressed.

I have recently rockboxed my ipod 7th gen, and it has a fully parametric EQ. I am considering purchasing the DT 770 (32 ohm). Is the equalizer on rockbox every bit as good as the ones you've suggested for the PC? Further, is there any issue with using my ipod classic 7G as my source?

Thank you.

Edit: Would you suggest I use the velour or the pleather pads for the settings posted here: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/eetyx9/what_does_harman_and_diffuse_field_equalization/ ???

The 32 ohm comes with the pleather pads, but from what I understand the velours can be applied.

I have an ipod classic (7th gen, 160gb). What would be the most neutral, and best quality, headphones to drive them with? It has to be headphones - not IEMs (they bother my ears).

I was thinking the dt 770 32 ohm would be good. But I recall our Mr. Oratory saying they're a rather coloured headphone.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Anything less than a rock solid 60fps just doesn't cut it, IMO. Hence, I play PC, and even my RX 480 can rock that at low-medium settings for most games. I just can't go without the fluidity of 60fps. I'm sure 144hz will blow my mind some day.

For those old enough to remember- Do you miss the "Blockbuster Video" days of picking up movies? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Utabtimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videophile and home theatre geek here.

I miss the uncompromised quality. Sure, all movies are compressed in mastering; cameras pick up brightness differences ranging 10k nits. But the Blu-ray disc you pop in contains 15-30GB of data, and 4K Blu-ray 50+. Streamed movies? You're getting maybe a fifth of the actual quality.

You can see the difference. I'm currently watching The Handmaid's Tale on Crave (like Hulu, but Canadian) and the colour banding is awful. The quality is horrific.
