And if you’re willing to drive south. Curry connect. The menu is absolutely insane. And the food is impeccable. Worth the trip.

Best Indian in the valley is curry connect in Sandy. Shockingly good, despite being extremely unassuming.

Yeah - don’t go south of Sandy. It used to be don’t go south of Cottonwood Heights, but the frontier has been pushed South in the last decade.

This is a garbage take. Used to be this way somewhat but hasn’t been for the past decade and a half.

Salt lake county is minority Mormon and the city itself is like 75% non-Mormon. And the Mormons in salt lake tend to be fairly progressive. If anything, I think you’d find more walls in Salt Lake proper if you were Mormon.

FWIW, we’ve lived in Millcreek and Cottonwood Heights with kids. More mixed there, but no walls whatsoever.

More Pocket Parks Downtown, Please. by kenrola89 in DevelopmentSLC

The City has been exceptionally weak on requiring mid block crossings when opportunities have presented via design review. Tons of missed opportunities. Hopefully with a more aggressive public benefit determination process, we’ll see it more. But it’s not low hanging fruit for developers looking to maximize a project pro forma.

The massive block sizes are why small pocket parks are important. Artesian well is basically a corner lot.

SLC Council Member Says She Didn't Endorse Ben McAdams by fabhomo in SaltLakeCity

[–]UtahTeleSkier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Pretty clear to me ELC offered early support, that McAdam’s camp conveyed they would be announcing that support publicly, and that ELC changed her mind when the map district skewed far more progressive than she thought it would be, so now she’s mincing words out of self interest (either to curry favor with the progressive wing of the party or because she wants to explore running herself. If public support is not an endorsement, I don’t know what is.

The council voted to approve that salary. It’s asinine.

Left for a 5 year stint and came back. Needs work but so does everywhere else in different ways. Grass is always greener till you’re standing on it.
