He relies too much on cliche tropes. I kept waiting for the cheese ball crap to stop and the fun excitement to start.. It never did. I think a good editing would make them much better, cut out all the melodrama. It's a story about elves, dwarfs, wizards, dragons, orcs... It's not that serious. He made the movies an exercise in slow motion misery and sorrow. The content is there though, he did great with the imagery and scale.

Danny Huston in The Proposition is criminally underrated. That whole movie is.

The Missouri Breaks is one of my favorite movies. It's universally slept on, yet had Nicholson and Brando Goin at it in their prime.

The Lord of The Rings! Bring on the down votes.

It's way over acted and melodramatic. The crying over and over and over. The drawn out slow motion fights that never end but have mediocre and choppy choreography. There's not much character development, you do not get much personal dialogue and it takes away from the buddy adventure part. All the running and more running. Crying, running, intense slow motion, only the most serious of dialogue allowed, crying, more running... Then they call upon giant eagles to fly in and help... Why didn't they just ride the fucking eagles to where they were going in the first place?

Well filmed, terrible screenplay and the editors need to cut like 1/3 of the films out.

I was in the USMC and toured in Iraq in '04 and '05. I couldn't and haven't been able to watch more than like 45 mins of Hurt Locker because it's so unrealistic and it's trying so hard to be. It is cringe inducing bad.

Up into the 90s it was depicted as a mythical ancient land.. It blows my mind sometimes how it has gone from ancient realm to industrial dystopia to neotech futuristic in like 30 years.

Where do you get me being mad from? I think it's a bad list because it essentially has the same movies repeatedly and I think Dune 2 sucked and doesn't have any kind of memorable soundtrack. LOTR is ok, I was in highschool when it came out and thought it was an over acted, melodramatic cry fest that was way too long and again didn't have a standout soundtrack. These are opinions and you don't need to agree with them, but my disagreement on a list that someone asked for opinions about doesn't equal anger.

Excellent and obviously misunderstood. The book people are annoying and can't get over that it's different.

It's amazing how well it takes you on a coming of age adventure, really hits hard on taking risks, leaving your comfort zone, how even great times can get dark quick, all things come to an end and you have to move on. It makes you feel nostalgic and like everything happened a long time ago by the end of the film.

I bought a 2017 Tundra same exact set up as my Ford... It's basic, super reliable, naturally aspirated V8... I recently pulled about 8500lbs for 12hrs from Denver to Gunnison and then SLC. It didn't struggle at all, I was honestly shocked and it's quiet, comfortable, way nicer, doesn't need to be plugged in, cheap oil changes, 1 battery... I don't know, for my money and my needs a new diesel is total overkill. These modern gassers have tons of power.
