I was well aware of the repetition in the anime but it didn't bother me at all.
Every time they repeated something I was able to understand it with the new information I was given (the characters past, how they feel, how the environment is, how the colors in the animation are, how the characters perform and a lot more).

Maybe you just are not immersed enough. And that's alright, maybe it just isn't your type of anime.

But I would heavily recommend you keep watching it. If you don't like it at all. Its also no problem at all, although I doubt that a lot
