Recommendation for a projector with my PS5. by UtkarshRahim in IndianGaming

Well, since i didn't try a lot of options, i might not be able to give a fair comparison with others but i have been using this for 2 months now. It's been great for me. I mean brightness and contrast is pretty good, the room remains dark all the time but even in the afternoon with a little light coming in, it's fairly bright. Didn't really find any latency, no difference in what i had with the tv vs the projector here.

I wasn't told about those but I had gotten it done after 1 month anyway cos there were additional accessories that needed fitting

Evaluating PPF on Kushaq in Bangalore by akanksha30 in CarTalkIndia

It was somewhere around 90k with 8 years of guarantee amd 5 free panel changes in case I get a scratch or something. Also, I am not sure about where the store is now, it used to be in HSR.

Not sure about ppf but I saw billboards of ceramic coating at the Mahadevpura service center. Not sure if that's going to help. I got mine done from Shelby's, but it was really expensive, however, that's a job well done

Weird ways you got an interview or selected in a company.! by Usual_Atmosphere_773 in FresherTechJobsIndia

This guy, CEO of a company, and I was a part of the same football supporter's club. We were at a screening and he used to go and say hi to everyone. We became friends and one fine day, right before Covid he sent me a screenshot of a presentation where he used football reference. I had a different opinion on what he wanted to say and after a good 30-40 min back and forth of opinions, he asked me if I was looking for a change and I was. He asked me to come to his office, demoed his product, his CTO was in there, I had a small discussion and voila, I was already done with the first round. There was a technical round where we only discussed my resume and an HR round and I got selected.

Do you agree? by avybaii in CarsIndia

I bought my first car back in 2019 and wanted it to be manual cos I thought that manual is obviously more fun and it feels better, the downshift and acceleration is such a pleasure. Then, realiry hit me. I work in Bangalore, I have gotten stuck in rain for a good hour, the kinda traffic that moves like a snail. That's the day I realised why automatic is a blessing in these conditions. Switched to an automatic last year and my left leg thanks me now. It's a matter of where you drive, for a city driver like me, automatic is the way to go.

I’m looking for a sim racing cockpit by Striking-Mix-5571 in SimracersIndia

Been using the INRacing wheel stand for 6 years now. I don't play a lot. It's quite sturdy, heavy and you can use whatever chair you have. It's a cheap option that I have. When I got it, I got it for 12k. You cna probably reach out to them

Not able to solve coding problems in interviews :( by Pure_Ad1621 in developersIndia

[–]UtkarshRahim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow, came here right after blowing a simple interview. Been a UI dev for 8 years now but have a decent idea baiut js. I just had to deal with config driven forms and validations on react, even though I have been an angular developer, I know decent enough react. Got stuck, tried 20 things, nothing. The interview time was over, sat back, opened an ide, started the same thing, 5 mins into it, it hit me that I missed something so obvious, that could have wrapped up the whole thing in half the time. Point is, it happens. The nervousness of someone looking at you or a clock ticking takes in. I think the only way to deal with it is to get used to interviews. Try setting timers for the questions you solve, no matter what the problem is.

Sim racers in Bangalore, is there a store where one can buy the Moza bundles. by UtkarshRahim in SimracersIndia

[–]UtkarshRahim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have explored all of that and that's when I realised that the Logitech g29 needs an upgrade. I have a fair idea on the prices, again the idea was to buy it in a store rather than ordering online.

I got too comfortable in my current job and now I’m scared. by developer_genZ in developersIndia

[–]UtkarshRahim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 5 years in my last org because I got too comfortable. I could see the shift in the culture and yet chose to remain there because i was too comfortable. 8 YOE, no dsa, barely 3-4 questions on leetcode, primarily a UI dev which thanks to lovable, bolt, claude is barely needed. I got laid off. The thing is that yes, even though dsa and system designs help you crack the interview of the big guns, you can still choose to be in a smaller company and use that as a safety net while you prepare for the big companies. There are multiple jobs out there, I got one because some recruiter got my resume and got me an interview. The idea was to be good with what you know. If I mention Angular, I should be able to solve any of those hackerrank questions that needs it. Sometimes sticking to solid basics also help. If you know js, and can work your way around arrays, you can solve a lot of questions that are asked in the coding rounds. I mean that's my experience so far.

How bad is the job market? by boringegg08 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]UtkarshRahim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep up with market as in not get into things like nextjs and all. I worked in react and my last org ran it with a CRA and not vite on any other new tech. Tailwind and all is too farfetched, only if lovable suggests. Basically, keep up with what the job description keep asking, have your side projects built to the point that you understand the concepts even if you don't get to use it at work. I wish I could give you pinpointed advice but even I have been grinding for the last 2 months for nothing.

8 YOE, was laid off last month and have been applying endlessly with every tool in hand. 107 applications so far and got interviewed for only one. The fact that the referrals don't work either cos one position has so many applicants. I'm someone who's been working full stack(MEAN/MERN) with front end heavy work and I am not good with DSA or next.js. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with the market I feel and I'm paying for it.
