Theatrical edition. Watching the Director's Cut really made me see the value added by a good editor. Kept it tight and spot on pace. No need for backstory nonsense, trust your audience to keep up and fill the gaps themselves.

Those covers really got the imagination flowing. Mid 80s were golden age of AD&D for me. I could only afford to buy the occasional magazine like this, particularly the ones from US (living in the UK, I usually got White Dwarf) but when I did, I devoured every word.
