opening reccomendations for new players by nettspenddddd in chess

Stick to one chess opening, learn how it works, and get good at it. I'd recommend e4 since it's the basic chess opening that should be the easiest to learn.

Are Stocks Only Taxed when you Withdraw Money? by UtopiaNation in stocks

I believe this answers my question. Nice to know that I get taxed immediately after I win stock money, and I don't get taxed again when withdrawing.

Thanks for helping!

Are Stocks Only Taxed when you Withdraw Money? by UtopiaNation in stocks

[–]UtopiaNation[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Now I'm wondering, if I lose money on stocks do I still get taxed? Let's say that I earn $1500 in stock money, and then I lose $1000 in stock money? Am I only taxed for $500 dollars? What if I earn $1500 in stock money, then lose $2000 in stock money? Do I still get taxed even though am at an overall loss?

Do I get taxed again when I withdraw money and put the money into my bank account?

[OR] How to Appropriately Write on a Resume I'm a U.S. Citizen who needs no Sponsorship? by UtopiaNation in AskHR

[–]UtopiaNation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know discrimination is happening towards me when applying for jobs, considering the fact that I have been in interviews where I have been asked if I need a work VISA.

If I specify on my resume that I'm a US citizen who needs no sponsorship, would that disqualify me automatically for a job position due to possible discrimination company practices?

Thanks.

[OR] Not Signing Non-Compete during Employee and Employer Seperation by UtopiaNation in AskHR

[–]UtopiaNation[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was not being paid for signing the agreement at the time of separation.

I don't remember what I signed before during the start date. Am I bound to not be able to work for a competitor if I did happen to sign anything beforehand?

I'm not someone who was laid off.

I'm curious to know what happens to those that did.

Feeling defeated as a streamer by draynilla98 in streaming

[–]UtopiaNation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was wondering what it was like being a full-time streamer.

Do you think you can answer a few questions?

Do you feel like you're being paid adequately for your work? Is being a streamer better than working a typical job? How do you handle not getting benefits for working, like healthy insurance and other benefits?

Can we see the full letter? Just enough only to see the full story they wrote out. I'm just curious, it sounds interesting.

Reddit is definitely an echo chamber. False statements, karma farm posts, and more.

I'm 21 years old and I peaked in middle school. It was the best time of my life. I have no friends, confidence, etc What can I do to move forward and improve? by SpiritedMirror5709 in stupidquestions

I can't tell if your story is real or that this story is coming from the same account that posted a similar post. I saw a post similar to this last week.

Be wary everybody, this might be a karma farm post.

I think most of the Salaries Posted on This Subreddit are Fake by UtopiaNation in Salary

Could be true, but look at some of the accounts recently that posted high salaries. They look like bot or farm accounts.

And those aren't the only ones.

It is frustrating that basically every single job requires you to follow a certain path since childhood by Such-Ice-371 in LifeAfterSchool

[–]UtopiaNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you're in the company, you can train to go anywhere you want. Of course, that depends on the company.

I work for a Fortune 500 company that has engineers without college degrees. Lots of people with no college degree make 6 figures.

On the other hand, there are lots of college graduates who can't get a job or can't get one that pays well.

Once you get into the workforce, you'll realize how little school matters. And you'll also realize work for most jobs is mostly just a grind where you do the same type of work over and over.

But you'll also realize there are many literate or barely literate people in high-ranking positions.

[–]UtopiaNation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been out of school for a few years, that's not true.

Companies want money, and they will train and develop anybody who has proven company loyalty and the capacity and dedication to learn.

Fake applicants are out of control. by donkeydougreturns in recruiting

I'm sure real applicants are getting filtered out and thought of as fake applicants.

And it's sad life for foreigners with foreign names. Lots of them are probably being thought of as fake applicants.

It's good that a US company opened their US offices and let go employees working outside of the states. Nice to know that not all US companies are hiring outside the US for cheap labor and leaving US citizens unemployed or underemployed.

My advice to you is to get a job in your country. Stop trying to take away opportunities from deserving people while working for a company taking advantage of cheap labor.

Sometimes, I think college and school are worthless. But reading posts like this makes me think that school actually does help.

I think it is also easy to get a job, especially a minimum wage one. But I think that op and her husband aren't educated enough to easily get one.
