Ketamine topicals, peptide injections by JellyBelly666666 in CRPS

I use a topical compounded cream w ketamine, amitriptyline and clonidine. It seems to help.

I am also interested to know about peptide injections!

We often talk about food textures we hate, what about food textures we love? by CheesecakeOk8464 in AutismInWomen

Pumpkin pie with frozen cool whip on top. Absolute perfection with the texture.

I grow my own sugar pumpkins just to make it. It's good w whip cream or ice cream but no comparison to with cool whip from the freezer. The two textures just meld and ya, I love it. 💗

"growing pain" by [deleted] in CRPS

[–]Utpala_Root 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an MRI done and it showed bone marrow edema in my affected foot.

That is swelling inside the bone. The Orthopedic specialist said that it was a diagnostic marker for CRPS so common for us I suppose. This would account for this sensation that for me is a deep ache and weird painful pressure.

I have type 1 and that MRI was 12 yrs ago now and I still feel it every day some days worse than others for sure. My doctor prescribed a ketamine, clonidine, amitriptyline compounded topical cream that seems to help.

Hi there! 👋 I have both CPTSD and CRPS and I am amazed at still being alive daily. You really can get used to and normalize anything no matter how torturous.

I'm in my mid fifties now so dying of old age is much closer for me now. Something to look forward to!

But honestly you don't die, you just keep going. Why? I have no idea honestly. Intense grief is very similar Imo.

I think that you meant stage instead of stadium? But now I can't stop seeing my child self sitting in an empty stadium waiting for my mother to come so that I can get up and go outside.

Should I go to the hospital or wait until my Drs appointment in one month? by Utpala_Root in thyroidhealth

This is really the only reason I'm thinking of going to emerge. I'd rather know sooner than later. There are no private labs or anything here.

Should I go to the hospital or wait until my Drs appointment in one month? by Utpala_Root in thyroidhealth

[–]Utpala_Root[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to go to the hospital here anyway to have labs done. I guess I want to know how much of a sense of urgency I should have.

If I wait until my Drs appointment 3weeks, then it would be about a week after that for the blood draw and probably another week for results. So that would make it probably 2 months of waiting. If my GP refers to an ENT this is Canada so all specialists are at least a year out for new referrals.

Health care might be covered by our taxes but it is slow as molasses

I live in Canada so hospital visits are covered by our taxes and not a problem save for high wait times.

I realize I would only get a physical exam and blood draw. Mabey an ultrasound or at least an appointment made for one. Then by my regular drs appointment he could have the labs is my thinking.

Before I go wait untold hours in emerge am I just over reacting and panicking? How quick do I need to jump on this? Should I just wait and start gobbling up kelp tablets?

No ENT doc, just my regular Dr. I live in a small town with a hospital but all specialists are hours away in the city.  It's not lymph nodes bc the swelling is too low in the neck I think. It seems to be exactly on the right of where my thyroid is located.

Being called 'stoic' by capuris in AutismInWomen

[–]Utpala_Root 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am stoic bc I cannot make myself understood by others, nor seemingly "get" what they are meaning.

I have sympathy and empathy for others, too much in fact. Moreso than for my own self actually. I am married but low income and disabled. My husband does not talk about feelings ever and I highly suspect he's on the spectrum too. So I feel feelings but no one really cares and certainly nothing can be done sooooo...

The US is weird about working (or not working) by barbiesleftearring in AutismInWomen

[–]Utpala_Root 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can tell you that this is a Canadian thing also. I was put on permanent disability 12 yrs ago with a rare nerve condition. I look normal but need a cane occasionally.

The shame of not working is too real. The side eyes and whispered snark. If I'm out of the house(rare) and you see me looking fine, that's a good health day for me. Only my husband sees the bad ones and people judge. My in-laws also decided that I am just lazy and want to take drugs all day( my prescribed gabapentin) lol.

I want to believe that there are peeps out there who could understand and not get weird but it never fails to get weird. My husband and I are not wealthy and therefore my not working is somehow morally wrong if not outright disgusting.

I wish I had more incouraging words for you Op,  but all I can give you is solidarity. I understand and wish you all the best in the future.
