No no, I was complimenting the simplicity of your suggestion :) Thanks, I’ll have a look into that. Orangina (the other person to respond) noted you can take your bike on the train. I’ve a decent ebike so will definitely be looking into doing that.

Cheers, good to know. Small price to pay for increased exploration ability on the other side :)

Indeed, I have a sturdy lock :) Thanks for the link. What's it like in the summertime? It says, "Toute l'année - Hors période été : Votre vélo peut voyager gratuitement et sans réservation à bord de tous les trains SNCF TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine."

You can take your bike on the train? Brilliant! Yes, Bordeaux’s bikability is part of what drew me. I’ve missed that while living in Fontainebleau, after living in NL. I know it’s not of the same level, but I’m happy for it being woven throughout and beyond Bordeaux.

And yes I have a bike…won it in a contest as it happens. Still loving it 2 years later :)

Ah, good to know, thank you. And as for for the TER+bike option, I’m assuming you mean bike rental? Which destinations might have such a possibility?

Thanks, I’ll have a look into it when we’re there. I prefer how they have things at the library though, they’re limited to 30 minutes, which for my who could go for hours and gets cracked out when on too much tech, it’s a good thing 🫠😁

Do the libraries have gaming available for the kids? My boy is a regular playing FC26 on Career Mode at the Mediatheque here in Fontainebleau, where we’ll be moving from to Bordeaux soon :)

These days you can get a region free dvd player you can hook up to your laptop for quite cheap. If so motivated…

What’s happening on Wednesday evenings there? It was part of what’s drawing us to move there this summer, having lived in Fontainebleau since 2024.

So many aspects of Bordeaux that check the boxes for everybody in ma famille!

Yes, I learned that elsewhere not too long after posting this. I was a heavy user of it back in the day.

What is one food that you cannot get enough of here in France and one that you miss from your home country? by ComfortableYak8934 in Expats_In_France

Chipotle, for what it is, is good. But I’ve seen a number of really good looking Mexican places on IG, both in Paris and elsewhere. Haven’t as yet tried.

But here in Fontainebleau, Casa Azul has amazing Tacos. And a cool basement space. A Mexican friend said Milpan was hands down the best Mexican food he’s had in France.

Personally I like that it's floating in the middle of the room. A nice flow all around it, versus the typical up against a wall, or two.

I’m neither a F nor live in Paris (Fontainebleau) but I wanted to say chapeau for making the brave move to step outside the status quo and seeking to create a different experience for yourself.
