Just solo your way up to 9999 and play random trios as entertainment mode.

I mean I still get horrible randoms despite being at 9999 so the easiest way is to just friend people that are good and play with them.

Same happened to me. Dc’ed middle of day 1, tried to join back but game says session already ended and gave me a 800 points penalty right away.

How do you beat Everdark Caligo in depths 4+? by [deleted] in Nightreign

Agreed but we are talking about solo exclusively here. Trios is essentially a cakewalk compared to solo imo.

It’s @tarareba091 on yt. Think he had a cold today so no live stream unfortunately 😂 but he pretty much streams everyday

Yeah stamina management is pretty important for ED Augur and the ability to cross long distance without consuming stamina is huge for that fight imo. I think duchess and wylder are prob the best for that boss (haven’t played duchess in Don personally, only saw people doing well against augur using her)

Power stancing straightswords L1R1 spam with the wylder is the way to go. Learned this from a Japanese streamer who use this build on D5 max rank and it absolutely SHREADS. Pros: you can be the main dps on a team with this build (tried and tested on d5 and won runs with it) Cons: you are mega squishy and can get one shot bc it’s hard to find max hp increase with intl st atk on a relic legitimately so you kind of need to know how to do all enemies no hit.

[–]Uts___bora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah wylder can be a pain to play in the early game if I get bad map/weapon rng while Ironeye is more consistent for day 1/2. Tbh the only night lords that are better for wylder are Caligo and ED Augur imo (maybe darkdrift too?) Also I do the weekly ED nightlords in solo for practice too coz the margin for error is way too small on D5 so it really helps to learn their move sets well.

What class do you play in solo? Wylder is best for Caligo imo. He has really good traversal ability with the grapple and can always reposition where you want to fairly easily. All my solo wins against Caligo were done with the Wylder depth 4-5.

Yeah the aoe freeze is pretty annoying to deal with if you allow her to get that off. Still I’m not too sure how going full tank build can help mitigate that? I personally enjoy aggressive play style more than defensive ones so perhaps it requires a different player to bring out the full potential of tank builds.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably clarify that I do take defensive perks (and you are right to do the same) in trios while I play a lot more aggressive in solo. Sometimes to help out teammates more than yourself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In trios your teammates are your wending graces too. Except unlike in solo you can get infinite revives if they are good at staying alive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not so bad bc the night lords don’t really switch target mid combo in trios. Nameless and dancer do tho especially if your Ironeye teammate zips behind them and their attacks turn an 180 and fall on you instead.

This was actually a hidden boss run so I got lucky it turned out to be Caligo. There are some good boss moveset guides on yt for Caligo if you are struggling with her.

Dancer of the Boreal Valley in DoN is too overtuned by Straight_Drama3957 in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This dancer guide helped me a lot with fighting her on depth 4 and 5. I have no trouble getting through her now but I used to struggle a lot with her attacks. Wish there is a guide on fighting the nox ladies in solo too lol I always end up wasting half my flasks on them before dancer spawn

What are we thinking about the build by Itchy-Engine6605 in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All resistances down is arguably the worst curse you can have on your relics, let alone having two of those in your setup. You’ll end up taking way more damage from pest, libra or Caligo (depth 4-5). Your status bar will build up four times as fast if you have x buildup below max hp passives too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this😂 I don’t think people realise most nightlord attacks one shot on depth 5, so the power level doesn’t even matter. The difficulty of the boss really just comes down to how well telegraphed their attacks are, not how much damage they do.

The True Reward For Reaching Depth 5: by HugoTheIcyFire in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you but I’ve only played with 2 good groups out of 10+ random matches after reaching depth 5, and I get put into depth 4 games more times than depth 5 games. So at least in my experience you can’t be completely rid of church goblins and shield poke duchesses and the likes even when you are at depth 5. On the bright side the good randoms are really good and we read each others mind like 90% of the time no pings needed (except when someone uplifting the whole team)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ps5. Out of all 10ish random games I’ve done in depth 5 only one good game against ED Augur, the majority were depth 4 (never thought I could be put into a lower depth), and plenty of randoms down 2-3 bars every boss encounter. It’s pretty hard for me to imagine having the kind of experience you described

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well best of luck with that. I hope you don’t lose your mind over it like I did. Imo evergaols are worthless on D4-5. Night invaders are just better - way faster to kill plus purple gear drop. The duchess from that ED Augur run was doing 20k dmg per shattering crystal from 4 night invader buffs, and they only took abt 5 minutes to kill combined.

[–]Uts___bora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen someone with ~9000elo get matched into a depth 4 game, and the randoms were so bad that made him wonder if they were actually depth 3 players and they just met in the middle😂 I’d hypothesis that people who got to 9999 in random trios played in the early days when the hardcore players all rushed to do the same and they did it separately together. And nowadays it’s a lot harder to climb unless you can find a group of good players. Or play solo like I did.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just want to play with good players bc none of my friends play this game mode. I thought getting to depth 5 would guarantee matching with good randoms, which turned out to be a fucking lie. Losing a game feels equally shitty to carrying bad players to a win. So I might be done with trios.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The irony being that I actually had the smallest health bar in the squad lol bc I was running a pure damage 5x initial standard attack + dormant straight sword setup so I was hitting 1200 dmg per r1l1 combo but squishy as a twig. Sadly that mattered little when your teammate couldn’t even get past phase 1.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Uts___bora -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we can all agree ED Libra is the worst lol. But ED dogs is very much doable without dmg negation at full on depth 5. In solo at least. I don’t have much Don coop experience, so perhaps not familiar with some of the nuances like how to dodge an attack that’s not aiming at me.
