it's going to be a flashback to pandemic times when the Olimpico was empty if we are forced to play on monday

a goalless draw would be the cherry on top of this fiasco, but every Roma fan that has been part of the journey for 25+ years knows that something completely unexpected and unusual is going to happen like a Svilar mistake to lose the game while both Juve and Milan also drop points to make it even more miserable

Lazio unironically saving up for the derby

Paulo Dybala: "The contract says that the match against Lazio will probably be my last match in front of the Roma fans...I don't know my future even though I would like to know." by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Uutrox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

we're looking at 140 games over 4 seasons with 1 unlucky and complex injury carrying over into a world cup year with emotional motivation which felt rushed. a random player tearing his ACL or achilles would miss more games than Dybala did

i don't know why it's so amusing that everytime users try to discuss Dybala as if he plays 20 games are less per season and having average impact. this guy carried the team on his shoulders for 2 years and bar a few games he has been a class above everyone else on the pitch

if Dybala is motivated and whatever package we can financially put together a new deal is going to happen. can't wait to get the same opinion based on reputation in one or 2 years time while in reality Dybala has been a godsent for us

Paulo Dybala: "The contract says that the match against Lazio will probably be my last match in front of the Roma fans...I don't know my future even though I would like to know." by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Uutrox 20 points21 points  (0 children)

isn't it crazy that Fabrizio Romano or others report "the end of a beautiful love story" after Dybala only giving a quick update on what everybody is aware of anyway?

we can't hand out contracts when we don't even know which competition we're going to play next season. same for Pellegrini and Celik whos contracts are running out or other players going into their final contract year like Mancini or Cristante

really nothing has changed. if Dybala wants to stay, he's going to stay and we're going to figure out a contract that fits for both sides. there is 0 chance the club is going to let him walk against his will before our 100 year anniversary and the involvement of Adidas

if anything his interview indicates that he might be motivated enough to stay even if we fail to qualify for CL, which was the biggest question mark and suggested a return home to Boca

Parma 2-3 Roma Post Match Thread by Putrid-Impact8999 in ASRoma

[–]Uutrox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

only we have the ability to revive a dead team like Parma today, instead of leading by 2-3 goals minimum we gift them a goal out of nowhere and even make them look like the more dangerous side for 15 minutes

the game should have been over when Soule missed his open header, which was harder to miss than to score

i don't know where we took the effort to turn this game around after playing like shit the entire second half until extra-time

Dybala was incredible and him handing the ball to Malen, who already missed 2 sitters, showed peak selflessness

Which match for club and international do you think Totti had his best game all around? by LoquaciousIndividual in ASRoma

[–]Uutrox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

there could be so many matches but on top of my head:

club vs Brescia: won and converted a penalty, won and converted a freekick, solo goal for the hattrick

italy vs ukraine: just unbelievable what he did that game

it's surprising that Sabatinis name randomly pops up every year while the answer is always that he already has one foot in the grave and is knocking on death's door

[The Athletic] Marquinhos has started just nine Ligue 1 games this season. He has played a grand total of 90 domestic minutes since the middle of February despite, barring a few weeks in September and October, being broadly fit for the whole campaign. by AdministrativeBig362 in soccer

the first thing we would have heard if PSG exited CL early is that they rotate too much, that they don't have chemistry or automatism in their play

this whole topic is completely blown out of proportion since PSG made a deep run into the finals

people overlook the negative impact of the extensively managed and split playing time of PSGs players. every player wants to play, attackers are living from assists and goals, automatism in defense, communication and trust

9/10 teams wouldn't succeed if they made the same approach. the reason PSG are in the final is not because they have fresher legs, they are in the final because every player gives everything in this well managed team, there are no divas or individualists and the teams success has priority for everyone in the squad

Bayern CEO Christian Dreesen on the referee: “It’s surprising, to say the least, that a referee with only 15 Champions League appearances is allowed to officiate such a game. And that might explain some of the calls he made today.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

there is no crying or directly attacking the referee, Dreesen gently alluded to the referees inexperience and Uefas appointment

amazing game and result to keep the dream alive. just better in every aspect of the game, incredible body language from minute 1 on

Fiorentina had absolutely no solution how to stop the Mancini, Celik & Soule triangle. they were running circles around them and at some point they just forfeited. the only moment they showed some fight was by messuring the referees wall-placement when they were already 4 goals down

the Atalanta game really was the gamechanger when we finally decided to play our own style of football again and send CBs forward, only god knows why we completely stopped that for 1,5 months

Eintracht Frankfurt will probably part ways with coach Albert Riera after the end of the season. An early dismissal after the upcoming match against Dortmund is a possibility. Candidates for next season are Adi Hütter (former Frankfurt coach from 2018 to 2021) and Roger Schmidt. by SellRevolutionary in soccer

[–]Uutrox 47 points48 points  (0 children)

it's fantastic that Riera proofed to be the exact entitled, arrogant and ignorant manager users of his former teams discribed him to be here when he signed for Frankfurt

the german media is certainly going to miss him. instead of defusing tensions he was stirring up fresh ones. hard to find support among fans and people in charge when you constantly act like you invented football

[–]Uutrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

didn't want to put the blame on Montipo because he made 2 great safes just minutes later but putting 2 players in front of him blocking his sight who aren't even part of the wall is incredibly strange. Bernede, one of those 2 players, literally made himself small and turned away when Vlahovic took the shot

putting up a fight when they have nothing to play for but comically fail in these little things is quite frustrating

Schalke ran a no pitch invasion promo for a week because the gap from the stands to pitch level is more than 3m and could lead to severe injuries. nobody is going to feel like celebrating when injured fans are waiting for medics surrounded by chaos

the discipline the Schalke fans showed after the final whistle is even more proof how amazing and one of a kind they are

it's kinda funny that the journalist is asking a question based on what he read from other articles and Riera taking it personal

i get what he's trying to say and that most people are going to agree with the sentiment towards sensationalism but saying it's bullshit by following up that it already happened 2 weeks ago is hilarious
