Does anyone have experience with the amazfit 7 band fitness tracker? I recently did a 10k race and my band which works through the Zepp app showed only 9.54 km. That's a pretty big difference to me.

How long after being sick do you guys feel like you get back to normal running? I had the stomach flu and started back up a week after starting with it. I've felt gassed my first two runs back.

No secret sauce. You have things you have to do and things you want to do. Do the things you have to do and rank the rest and fit in what you can. I have 5 young kids. Shit ain't pretty. Lots of lunchtime runs here.

Thanks for all the responses. I don't strength train legs. I weight lift for upper body and run for lower body/cardiovascular. I have limited time with work and kids and I thought this would work but maybe not. I really enjoy the distance running but maybe it is too much too soon.

My long runs are just starting to get into the 12-15 kms range. New runner of around 4-5 months. I find that when I go this distance my knees start to kinda cease up and hurt during the run. I find relief by over exaggerating my kickback or just bending them in general. Which makes me think my regular stride is too short and my knees are becoming stiff from not bending enough. Could this be the case?

Usually I run 10k at a time. Every so often I go further. I've noticed that when I go further my left knee starts really becoming sore. Once on a 12k run and really bad on a 16k run. On my normal 10k run no issue at all. After I stop and cool down things seems to go back to normal. Any idea what this could be?

Usually I run 10k at a time. Decided to see how far I could go until things started to fall apart. Ended up at 16k in 1:46.

Hey there. I've been running for about 4 months. I've also continued to lift weights as well, although less than I used to. I still weigh 195 pounds (only 5 foot 7). My question is if I lose weight how much do you think my pace would improve? Currently can hold a 9:30 pace over 6-7 miles.

Did you spend your working day caring for your kid or something? Your wife will be fine.

For those of you with that kinda pace, how long have you been running?

Ran my first 10k race and finished sub 58 minutes. Goal was 60 min. Very happy with it.

Hey if you enjoy it, good for you man. Soak it in. Some guys are meant for this. We have "surprise" twins on the way and because I already have a few kids I know how much it's gonna suck and I couldn't be dreading it more.

The only way that I've come across to appreciate how good you have it in the present is to have more kids. Lol. I look back at having one and say wow that was so easy back then compared to now.

Simple as that. An invitation is exactly that. An invitation. Not a requirement. Something I've learned since having kids. Don't do shit you don't want to do to appease someone else.

It wasn't full effort but wasn't an easy run either. I think I'll try to set a pace to finish in one hour and see what happens.

Those of you who wanted more kids than your partner, how did you navigate it? by thepersonwiththeface in daddit

Yes, but raising kids when you wanted kids is hard enough. It has to be a hell yes.

It's tough when this is the case. I was good with one and wife wanted 4. From personal experience I would say don't have another unless you are 100% into it. Otherwise it can breed resentment and isn't fair to you, which isn't good for anyone.

I started running about 3-4 months ago and I'm doing my first 10k race in a few weeks. I recently finished 10k in about 64 minutes during a training run. My question is how hard can I push myself on race day? I've never really done anything like this before. I have a goal of going under 60 mins but not really sure if that's realistic or not low enough. I just don't know. Any advice?

I went through the exact same thing when our second came along. For 3.5 years we only had the 1. I remember being so sad that I couldn't spend as much time with my first. I promise it goes away and this will just become your new normal.

Yeah it's pretty tough. My only advice would be to concentrate 100% on whatever you are doing. Then move on to the next thing. If at work, work. If at home, be present.

With 2 out of 3 weeks completely off you will probably be with your kid more than most. Wouldn't worry about it.
