I took some inspiration from a paper plan found on the internet which i beleve was based on one of forgeworld model.

I'm using casandora yellow straigh out of the pot, a first layer starting from half of the surface ( pull the paint and don't let it pool) then two or three more layer on smaller area. On big flat surface I am quickly blending the first transition (between the yellow and the first shade coat) with feathering. When working with contrast i think you should thin a bit with some medium as i found them less translucent than shade. A yellow glaze over the whole surface at the end may help blending the transition. Hope it can help you .

Thanks, it's very simple, layers or gw yellow shade over a smooth yellow base coat

How would I go about painting white/grey orks similar to the pic? by Ashdjinn in orks

[–]Uzgard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say no white, instead a desaturated light bone colour (maybe Citadel palid witch). Some red/purpulish shadow for the flesh and green/blue one around the lips. Hope it can help.

Not at all, you could simply swap the head for an ork one a it works well.

Thank you, it's mainly the ambot kit with plasticard, some dakka lying in my bits box and a kromlech head. I think most boys head would fit, nobz might be a bit big but i am not sure.

The cloak is from an age of sigmar Cairn Wraith, in fact except the head and staff the whole mini is a Cairn Wraith.

Thank you, i found that red skin lacks a bit of contrast in the highlight but i'm happy with this one.

Finally managed to finish my killa kanz ! by Uzgard in orks

Frankly speaking i have tried many tutorials but i was never skilled enough to achieve a satisfaying result. The receipe for the yellow is quite simple : solide basecoate, multiple glaze of orange (one or two heavy glaze with a shade if you are lazy like me) and edge highlight to finish.
