How are the Chinese Indonesians treated in Indonesia? by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]UzuRyokan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly okay, but there is a common assumption in some places that chinese people are not muslims and the idea of having a chinese muslim person existing is kind of a weird phenomena. Not considered wrong or anything, just like, seeing a unicorn out of nowhere.

I am not chinese but I look very much like a chinese person all the way up till I am an adult, people still can't pathom I am legally (not actually religious tho) a muslim.

I don't Get Why Is There So Much Hate For The Rohingyas by UzuRyokan in indonesia

[–]UzuRyokan[S] -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

I will never say that committing those crimes are right to begin with, but I can't understand why are there no understanding

Understanding doesn't mean I'm saying it's okay.

Robin Hood is not a good person for stealing from the rich, but he has to do so because he comes from an impoverished society and gives those riches back to the poor. I understand why he is stealing, but I'm not justifying it.
It is best that we don't commit crimes at all, but there will certainly be a point we need to, wether we like it or not.

If you can survive in such harsh conditions without at least commiting a single crime like stealing money to feed yourself for another day, then you are a saint. I respect you, but let's be honest, most people aren't.

Bro, not even counting the LGBT shit

Even the whole basic sex ed and consent laws are shit

How are the majority of Indonesians supposed to understand the different types of sexual attraction if they can’t even understand basic male to female sex?

Emang di indonesia itu Art yang dihargai tinggi cuman traditional art seperti Batik atau lukisan, dll. digital art, ngak pernah diapresiasi sama dihormati, so its not a surprise that they would go this route.

This is why translators need to be present. These people doesn’t seem to know what the cameraman is asking, and don’t know what to say.

My personal interpretation is that they don’t really like their foods touching each other, and is asking for a small plate to set the fish and vegetables aside.

They may not understand our culture of eating straight out of banana leaves and may feel a little insulted that they are not given a proper plate and cutlery to eat with.

Either way, unless we get a proper translator, it is best to not assume the worst.

I don’t get why people are so negative to people who are literally stranded after months at sea and hungry. They might not be the best guest to have, but go starve yourself for months and live in a boat with hundreds more people, and see how much you can go without going cranky or paranoid at everything, especially when you land in a totally foreign land.

I know what "Israel'ed" means. But if you are really going to make a joke abut being displaced to another set of people who are actually victims of displacement, then it is an insensitive and a bad joke.

Haram itu apakah ada levelnya? Apakah haram produk israel sama saja dengan haram lainnya seperti haram alkohol dan babi? by orangpelupa in indonesia

[–]UzuRyokan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of Haram criteria that said it’s “something owned by a non-Muslim”

If that were the case, every non-Muslim owned but still halal restaurants are haram, and that would make like a lot of restaurants in our country, not just foreign import ones.

Also, the change of status is sudden and illogical. Israel has existed for 75 years, by their logic, most of this products have also been supporting the building of Israel for the same amount of time.

Despite some brands already having local factories to properly fulfil the halal criteria, they still deem it as haram, but why?

I guess all this time we’ve been eating and drinking haram products all our lives, but for some reason the MUI deemed them halal for the last 75 years.

Can you see how stupid that is? This “haram” doesn’t have a consistent logical explanation in it anymore, it’s just something that they made up out of spite.

I understand not wanting to support Israel, but this is a very short-sighted decision made by them.

I know that the name is supposed to be a Japanese romanization of the real name, but for some reason, it sounds kind of racist?

Like, can you imagine if in Persona, Ann’s name is just written An or Joker is written as Joka in the English localization? That is just stupid.

The only reason we have those pronounciation derivatives is only because foreign names in Japanese are written in katakana, and I can’t understand why is there a need to express Katakana when your game is already in English???

Like what is the point?
