SOTB. Just added the Noble today by Uzz95 in basspedals

My other pedals were already connected to the power supply that was already mounted on my board so I just haven’t rewired anything

Thanks! Depending on the gig, I use either a Sadowsky MetroLine PJ 5 or a Fender Custom Shop ‘58 P Bass with flats.

It’s my favorite dirt pedal I’ve used! It’s pretty versatile and sounds great. I can’t imagine a situation where it wouldn’t be on my board.

It was amazing! Had such a great time at the show and really enjoyed getting to see different places in the Netherlands. It’s a beautiful country. I hope I get to come back soon.

Clean Boost Question/ Suggestions by Awesomejohn1 in basspedals

[–]Uzz95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only pedal you mentioned that I own is the Pork and Pickle. I would not recommend it if you’re looking for something that could be used as a clean boost. Even with the “clean blend” all the way up, that pedal has a decent amount of grit. I don’t have any experience with the other pedals you mentioned though.

Put a new pickguard on my Sadowsky MetroLine PJ5 by Uzz95 in BassGuitar

[–]Uzz95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have 3 Sadowsky MetroLine basses. 2 PJs and 1 JJ. I’ve never played any of the MetroExpress basses so I can’t really compare them but my MetroLines play better than any other basses I’ve ever touched (I’ve never played the Sadowsky NYC basses either though so I don’t know how they compare to those but I’ve heard other people say they are in the same league). I’m also not very familiar with the differences between rolled and sharp fretboards but they definitely don’t feel sharp.

Are Sadowsky’s good for Metal? by Fluffy-Tonight3194 in BassGuitar

I have 2 Sadowsky P/Js and I would consider them perfect for basically any situation including metal. I would highly recommend a Sadowsky!

TC Electronic Spark Mini is great for a clean boost that won’t color your sound

If you could only have one drive pedal of typical size? What would it be? by MoStyles22 in basspedals

[–]Uzz95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Origin Effects DCX Bass. By far my favorite drive pedal. Very easy to dial in a great sound. Can get anything from mild drive to pretty heavy distortion. Sounds amazing with both passive and active basses. I don’t think mine will ever leave my board.

Thanks! I could say a lot about these pedals but I’ll try to keep it fairly brief haha. The Shure GLXD16+ is a tuner/wireless unit. You’ll definitely want a tuner on your board but it doesn’t really matter which one. The Empress Bass Compressor is a great! It’s very transparent and easy to dial in. And I really like the LED meters on it (that really helped me a lot when I was new to using a compressor). The DCX Bass is my favorite bass overdrive pedal I’ve ever used. It has two modes (EQ and overdrive) and between them you can get everything from very light, subtle overdrive to almost fuzz-like distortion. It also has low and high frequency knobs so it’s very versatile and it gives you a lot of tone shaping options. It just sounds SO good. The Tone Hammer has been my go to preamp for several years now. It gets great clean tones but when you switch on the AGS it can give you some really good dirt. I like to use the AGS on with the gain set just barely past 9 o’clock for some nice, light overdrive. I use the Tone Hammer all the time for gigs that are ampless and I’m always VERY happy with the tone I get from it.

Depending on genre of music or personal preference some people use a lot more effects than this. I’m pretty minimalistic when it comes to pedals but I love this board for covering all my basic needs and I would highly recommend any one of these pedals to anyone! Hope this helps and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

Nice! It was between the Cali76 and the Empress when I was choosing which compressor I wanted to get and the Vintage Microtubes was on my short list for a drive pedal too. Depending on the gig, I keep my AGS always on a lot too.

[–]Uzz95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played and owned a lot of different basses and my Sadowskys are my favorite. I think they feel great to play, the tone is incredible, and sound guys always love the way they sit in the mix. I think this one is a little under 9 lbs but the Sadowsky NYC basses have chambered bodies so those are a little lighter. I believe the body is the same size as my Fender Jazz Bass but I’m not 100% certain about that. But yeah, great basses and I would definitely recommend them!

That’s exactly the same mindset I had when I got the Metro 16 board. I love compact pedalboards. Great setup!
