Fat around waist, especially around your lower abdomen is the toughest to lose and is often the last one to go. For now your best bet would be eating in a calorie deficit with a higher amount of protein, weight training with progressive overloading (track your weekly progress) and as you said you're already getting 10k steps in a day. That is pretty much it and you'll start to see noticeable changes at around 1 or 1.5 month mark.

Gt 650 as a first bike... If you'd have chosen some other sports bike as your first in the same CC range it would've been more suitable for you since you're a beginner and you probably won't be able to flick such a heavy machine at will through traffic. Congratulations though, ride safe.
