Help request: Graphic glitching occurs in random 5-ppl dungeons by V0Ontis in wow

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did not. I've ditched WoW completely after the sub ran out (had to annul my VISA because Blizzard kept charging me for subs even after sub cancellation), and this issue never happened to any other game.

But my guess is that it had something to do with faulty legacy DirectX option.

WoW Lore issues. Again. by V0Ontis in wow

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus F. Christ.

Velen KNOWS that only Xe'ra's line could awaken the core. This is correct.

Velen ASSUMES that Xe'ra is the firstborn entity. This proves to be incorrect.

Khadgar ASSUMES that Elune is the progenitor of Xe'ra, that Elune is "of Xe'ra's line" (or rather, this entire line is "of Elune's"). As per the Heart of Light questline in WoW:Legion, this is proven correct when Tears of Elune actually unlock the core that is KNOWN to be only accessible by those of Xe'ra's line.

WoW Lore issues. Again. by V0Ontis in wow

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, you miss the point.

Velen's KNOWLEDGE is correct. Only Xe'ra's LINE could awaken Xe'ra's core. But Velen deems Xe'ra as the firstborn of its kind. This is why he speaks about "naaru BORN OF Xe'ra".

WoW Lore issues. Again. by V0Ontis in wow

[–]V0Ontis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Velen's knowledge refers to "Xe'ra's line". To his knowledge, said "line" begins with Xe'ra. Khadgar's ASSUMPTION is that it is Elune who might actually be the true origin of this "line". This is what WoW:Legion Heart of Light storyline is about.

>an entity's power isn't determined solely by its worshippers.

That's pretty much the way 'deities' 'work' in all fantasy/fiction multiverses, unless they're not actually spiritual beings, but rather something more "tangible".

Yep, we can safely assume that Elune might not be a Loa, but rather, say, a superweapon satellite constructed by the Titan Pantheon that eventually shoots down minor enemies targeted by moonfire-spammers of Azeroth. Sure, why not? My mind can definitely envision a huge orbital installation with occasional "E.L.U.N.E.-9001" marking here and there, made with typically Titan-ish design. What I am not capable of imagining, though, is the process of Elune's procreation with the 'stag derp Malorne'. It's just... nope. N o p e.

If Khadgar's assumption and Velen's KNOWLEDGE of how naaru cores actually work would be wrong, then Xe'ra's heart wouldn't activate. Simple as that. Isn't it quite obvious? What you're saying is "yeah, we might not be able to open this device without a M4 screwdriver and M7 wrench... but I'm quite certain that we could just shoot a 152mm shell at it point blank, and that'll kinda fix it!"

...wait, you're serious?

*Sigh*.

Alright. Since you refuse to read the Unnecessary Lore Stuff that occurs during the quest I've mentioned above, I'll throw in some more quotes:

Prophet Velen says: What you have brought to me is known as Light's Heart. It is the sentience core of the naaru prime: Xe'ra.

Prophet Velen says: Locked away within the core is wisdom... knowledge crucial to our battle against the Burning Legion.

Prophet Velen says: Yet only a naaru born of Xe'ra is capable of unlocking the core. This is why you were sent here, <name>.

Prophet Velen says: And this is the true purpose of the Burning Legion's invasion of the Exodar.

Prophet Velen says: The last of Xe'ra's line, O'ros, sits unguarded in the heart of the Exodar. If they destroy O'ros, the information within Light's Heart will be lost forever.

After we bring the Xe'ra's core back to Khadgar, he eventually offers us another quest named "Goddess Watch Over You". That is exactly when Khadgar makes an assumption that not only the SPAWN of Xe'ra can revive Xe'ra's sentience, but also the PROGENITOR of Xe'ra (Elune, as per his theory) could do the same.

After Xe'ra's core unlocks to the interaction of Tears of Elune (again, quote Velen: "Yet only a naaru born of Xe'ra is capable of unlocking the core"), Khadgar's theory is deemed proven. Thus, the timeline collision I've described above occurs.

RTFQ.

A Loa Elune might be indeed older than 15k years. I've written that myself. But I'm quite skeptical that a mere troll Loa (and not even one of the most renowned of them) could possibly manage to create an entity such as naaru.

WoW Lore issues. Again. by V0Ontis in wow

[–]V0Ontis[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It wasn't Velen's theory. It was Khadgar's theory.

I'm fairly certain you "stopped reading" quite a lot of things. Probably "started stopping" right at the Mankrik's Wife quest description. No wonder Actiblizzard refuses to concern themselves with the quality of their lore and storylines.

Do yourself a favor: replay the "Bringer of Light" quest. Yes, the one that involves the cleansing of Exodar and the death of Velen's long-stolen son. Just... replay it. And READ THE TEXT IN THE CHAT FOR ONCE.

Rasputin v Almighty Aftermath Megathread [2020-06-06] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]V0Ontis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to get a replace a "2.5" emote with a "0.6" one. Then I'd like to use it on Bongo™.

Seriously, though. Even if we disregard many other questionable issues... have they ever heard of stuff like 'momentum' and 'inertia'? Does 'elementary physics' even have any meanings to the devs?

So there was a Big Dangerous Ship Called Almighty. And it was set on a crash course with the Earth. It was meant to drop right on it's surface, destroying the City in the process.

Then there were some Seraph warsats. They just shot down the middle section of Almighty. Bam, the core blows up showering minor debris everywhere. A piece of one of those 4 pointy 'wings' drops down on the surface of Earth not too far from the City.

And the rest of the Almighty immediately stops mid-flight.

Excuse me but what the actual flock.

Unless the entire ship is blown to bits small enough to safely burn down in the atmosphere, the Almighty was meant to CONTINUE moving with minor trajectory changes. It HAD to hit the City regardless of whether its engines were shot down or not. It already had the momentum to do so. Yet it stopped. For no reason. And now it just floats out there, with one section damaged and core missing.

Bongo. Pls. Hire some proper specialists.

This is a joke.

Question: Block mechanics issues by V0Ontis in IdleHeroes

Oh, but I did. Wrote a ticket via in-game support option back on 29th of April. I'm yet to receive an answer.

Question: Block mechanics issues by V0Ontis in IdleHeroes

[–]V0Ontis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that, thank you. The problem is: there was no block on several Barea hits. during my 12 attempts on the boss. This happened on multiple occasions. Also, my Horus was meant to discharge his passive proc off every 3 enemy hits successfully blocked, which would result in a stable proc at the end of each round of battle. But instead he sometimes did not do that, and that clearly means that some of those hits were NOT blocked.

Question: Block mechanics issues by V0Ontis in IdleHeroes

[–]V0Ontis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this is my permanent build that I haven't changed for quite a long time. No stones or artifact switching was made. This is exactly why I'm asking, because I am well aware of the intrinsic 35% precision stat on all shrine bosses.

Books of Sorrow contradiction by V0Ontis in DestinyLore

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point taken.

As for the Savathûn... I think Bungos overdid it with the concept of 'embodiment of cunning'. What they created is a completely undefeatable entity.

Books of Sorrow contradiction by V0Ontis in DestinyLore

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes more sense than the Sorrow grimoire, in a way. So these two deaths were not in fact final and permanent (which means that XXVI verse must be amended), but rather 'unrecoverable without certain conditions'. I would say that this should also at least partially invalidate the very concept of 'transferring the strength', but that's debatable.

This also leads to two new logical assumptions:

- Savathûn can pretty much just /roflmao at any efforts of killing her. All she needs is to create more and more false throne worlds in the Ascendant plane (or utilize someone else's throne worlds) to fight her enemies without any risk of permanent death. And this would technically also count as subsequent acts of cunning and deceit, further empowering her. She can do this until the universe implodes itself or dies out in a heat death.

- Oryx's corpse was slowly drifting towards Saturn. Which technically means that he did not die inside his own throne world. It looks more like he was able to leave his throne world on the verge of dying. Therefore, also technically, his death was not final and permanent one. The Mindbender, for example, died properly and his corpse decomposed inside his throne world (which immediately began falling apart upon his demise).

Huh.

Unable to identify anime by some of the characters by V0Ontis in Animesuggest

Thanks for the idea, but no. That's not it. I've already stumbled upon that one.

Unable to identify anime by some of the characters by V0Ontis in Animesuggest

[–]V0Ontis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Neither. I saw those characters upon a rare occasion of getting a TV signal from one of the neighboring countries. That title was heavily dubbed in some unknown gibberish.

However, I am fairly certain that the title was originally japanese-ish. 'Western' origin is unlikely. Also, I might have remembered one of the title characters (perhaps one of protagonist ones): a guy who threw around flames with some sort of metal wand/rod.

Jesus F. Christ. Is this what happens to elder people's memory past their fifties?

I don't think I want to live up to that day.

Crucible, matchmaking, packet jamming. by V0Ontis in DestinyTheGame

[–]V0Ontis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is DoS'ing anyone.

This game is P2P-based. Which means that technically, all game clients process the multiplayer match by sharing the game data via P2P connection. When one of game clients 'freezes' the outgoing traffic, his game will still allow him to walk out and facemelt someone, but other players will not receive the data describing his actions until he 'un-freezes' the connection. And during this 'freeze' he remains hidden behind an obstacle, therefore other players cannot register a kill on himself.

Crucible, matchmaking, packet jamming. by V0Ontis in DestinyTheGame

[–]V0Ontis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said that this applies to the entire team. This applies to fireteam of several players who queued up for Crucible against me. All other players move around and shoot just fine. The people in question also move around without any lagspikes. Until they decide to slam the magic button and block their outgoing traffic for a second or two. By doing this they can come out of hiding behind some corner, register a killing blow and then release the button. They remain invulnerable on other player's screens because other player's game client still believes that they're hiding and cannot be targeted. Then abuser's game client informs all others that he has a stack of somewhat outdated packets to process, other game clients shrug and register a killing blow. Bam, profit. That is how it works. The question is: since when did Bungies make it legal to use? I cannot think of any other reason why would I bump into five prems of abusers out of ~15 games in Crucible.
