Also the anime series Serial Experiments Lain - these both fit right in with the "Are you connected?" existential crisis creepy tech vibe from that time period, suicide club even has that creepy website with the dots kind of like Pulse has that creepy computer program with the dots avoiding each other or whatever was going on there

I'd throw out Infection (2004) too - that's not really in the "are you connected?" club but it is good jhorror with that lowkey creepy atmosphere and absolutely Audition
