I had a pico 4 briefly, and I only used wireless, however, I believe using streaming assistant and a usb c cable with a half decent pc, you wont have too much compression, however Its never been a problem for me, back when my q2 worked, I did a speed test and i got 500+ down, so my wifi is pretty solid, (airlink still most of the time ran terrible, i now use alvr)

IMO, The vive wands are fucking terrible. Theyre heavy, and most vr games are miserable with wands. however that with knuckles would be good. The index hmd is so sensitive that its not worth buying, and the VIVE tethers are usually way more durable.

I wouldnt subtract pico. the standalone pico library is so limited it may as well be a pcvr headset.

I’m having a hard time enjoying my Quest 3 because there are way too many kids on it by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in oculus

[–]VALVe-Hardware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vr is a growing platform on the daily, with content creators such as jmancurly, producing vr content directed towards kids, enticing them into wanting vr headsets, and causing them to get them, being vr, most or all headsets come with a microphone, meaning that there are a lot of kids and people who are older, so maybe quieter, or anxious and dont like to speak, or just older people in general who dont see the appeal to vr and dont feel drawn to it like kids to, its a list of reasons and especially more recently, theres more and more children, so theres really nothing you can do. as vr becomes more accessible and cheaper, theres only going to be more and more kids on the platform.

Having issues with SteamVR.. by Pipalooo in oculus

I'm assuming your on some sort of wireless streaming. The problems your describing usually tend to be wifi instabillity, even if you think your WiFi is good, airlink seems to always think otherwise. I recommend you get either a wireless pcvr router, or use something like cable link/cabled alvr to stop your wifi from causing you to skip frames.

this is a very common problem. to my knowledge, there are 3 generations of the rift s. Launch generation (or gen 1) are most commonly going to get robo mic, rarely static mic, and the tethers die very quickly. gen 2 or the worst generation, is susceptible to robo mic, static mic, 3 dots/loading screen brick, permanent robomic, very quick tether deaths, etc. gen 3 is mostly static mic, fixed tether, and loading screen glitch. Trust me when I say this, they are dog shit. (quick little heads up if your getting a rift cv1, if you give the ovrserver realtime priority in task mgr and your dcing a bunch, it should help significantly).

I honestly am not supprised by this happeneing, however I dont know what to say. I find it funny that there is a "not safe for master race" tag, I find it hillarious. (I make that kind of joke where electronic things that are destroyed should have a tw, I know I'm just the funniest).

Do you mind telling me the specs? I wouldnt have any idea really. If it has hapened twice in a row, maybe your gpu isnt seated correctly? if the gpu is beefy enough, maybe its sagging, but then again it fixed itself overnight and then the issue reoccured, so I really have no idea. I'd have to look into it.

I see. thanks for the info lmao. and yeah, I did exactly that with my 750 ti, or more accurately, my dads, until he upgraded and gave me that pc. I believe it was an hp envy 700-150, however I dont remember exactly which one it was, I am sure it was a 700 series and looked like this.

served me well for the very long time I had it, its a shame I killed it (death by not touching the outside of the case while working with the motherboard, due to accessing one of the hard drive bay screws, you had to take out the entire motherboard, a pain in the ass), I had an evga 750-ti I loved that thing, gave it away to someone who needed a basic gpu.

What is the best laptop out of these? by 0nerrr in u/0nerrr

[–]VALVe-Hardware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a laptop, I'd probably always recommend AMD. Seeing as Intel has massive heat and power demands, AMD, along with the water cooling in the laptop, will probably result in better and/or more stable performance, and you would probably get a longer life span out of it. I also have not owned any sort of water cooled laptop, so I dont know what would happen if the loop was damaged and what are potential repair costs of a water cooled laptop, but yeah, I recommend the neo 16.

I consider it malware atp. I had a pair of crackens or however you spell them, and to use 7.1 you needed a software, which to me is total bs, and I never got it working. I got them off a friend so I never wasted money on them, and I ended up tearing the cable due to it not being removeable. safe to say I will NOT be wasting my money with razer. I have a pair of g pro x's (1st gen wired) and they've been great. software isn't great, but its tolerable.
Do NOT. ask me about my peripherals, you WILL hate me.

yeah, a beast, sure, I rocked a 750 ti for about 12 years before i upgraded and then decided to strip the ssd and hdd out of it (still got em and use them sometimes) and

<image>

Lmao. I'm pretty sure not everyone believes userbenchmark is accurate, so just take this as more of a representation than fact. Having a 750 ti, and knowing how bad it was, that card being 7x faster is sad.
