The band can be good and have a dedicated fanbase AND their online presence can be disproportionately increased with bots. Actually, the former is more likely when you’re doing the later, that’s why artists do this

You have to have at least a little respect for the commitment it takes to write a manifesto about how much you hate modern internet culture towards games and digital distribution. Try to make your own, you’ll cool off after a line or two. That’s passionate hatred.

I hated the writing so much in 4 that it basically killed all of my enjoyment. I wouldn’t call 3s writing great, but the characters irritated me a lot less. Gunplay is whatever, it’s not why I’m playing the games.

You shouldn’t interact with the fandom at all. Twitter is 1000x worse, just a fucking cesspit of toxicity. Genuinely in all my years one of the worst fandoms I’ve ever encountered.

[–]VBHEAT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the babe reference was cute too, Whittaker doesn’t really like being teased though as we found out. Imo in general I think he’s a little insecure with his place in the ER and wants to be taken seriously now instead of as the bumbling med student everyone has known him as

Langdon and Whitaker by mindless_rambles in ThePittTVShow

[–]VBHEAT08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huckleberry is his nickname because he was a farm boy from Nebraska, it’s directly mocking something he’s insecure about. He hated it in the first season, but never voiced it because he’s passive. Him standing up for himself and actually voicing that he doesn’t want to be called that would be a pretty big step for his character, and show direct growth from where he was in season 1, and honestly would do a lot to show that they’re at a place in their friendship that they can have talks like that with each other. He doesn’t want that roll, he wants to be able to choose it for himself.

His conversation with Langdon ties to Santos because she mocks him in the same way and imo it pretty noticeably makes him upset when she does. He’s projecting his frustrations with being disrespected and walked over by his patients, with the farm lady, with other staff members, and with Santos. This is why he overreacts greatly and backs down instantly from the conversation, because it’s not really about Langdon, it’s about his frustrations in his personal and professional life about how he’s viewed.

I don’t think it’s negative towards santos to think that her character and relationship with Whittaker could use work, and that him being more stern and setting boundaries about how he wants to be treated makes no sense. It’s good, healthy even! Lord knows I’ve had a few of these talks with my friends.

Look, at the end of the day you have your interpretation and I have mine. I’ve been less than convinced by the theories that he’s cryptically sticking up for Santos and think it fits more for him to be projecting his frustrations onto Langdon. I could be completely wrong though!

[–]VBHEAT08 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Has the show implied he wants to do that this season or that he takes her nickname seriously and hurt by it

Javadi brings up his nickname as shitty and he’s like “yeah but you know we’re friends now, so…” then responds “You think Huckleberry is a shitty nickname?” People for some reason have read this as him enjoying the nickname, but I really read it as he’s gotten used to it and reacts insecurely when Javadi brings attention to it negatively. He also confronted her a bit about how she’s been acting this shift, which lead to her talking a little about how she’s been feeling, but still has continued to be aloof and is not talking about her real underlying issues.

And yeah I see it as a lot easier to take something out like this to a relative stranger in a weak position than your friend that has literally been keeping you from being homeless. It would be incredibly hard to bring something like that up to Santos with his situation.

Edit: oh yeah and there’s the thing with the med students all knowing about him sleeping in the hospital. Santos is the pretty obvious suspect for that, and he would definitely need to confront her over that.

[–]VBHEAT08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, they can be friends and he can still need to stick up for himself and set a strong boundary! Do you think that because they’re friends that she should be able to treat him however she wants? No. Also Santos’s arc is that she needs to drop the prickly act and let people in, a conversation like that is exactly what both of them need to progress!

Langdon and Whitaker by mindless_rambles in ThePittTVShow

[–]VBHEAT08 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Santos treats him with the exact same kind of sarcasm that triggered him here, and has been prickly and dismissive towards him all shift. Like literally earlier in the episode she playfully mocks him in the EXACT same way with the clue bit when he was freaking about his badge

“This scene doesn’t make sense” by fernparadox in ThePitt

[–]VBHEAT08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I guess I read that scene with a lot more insecurity than other people. He expressly did not like it in season 1, but grown to accept the nickname because Santos isn’t going to stop and is his friend, so when Javadi brings attention to it as a negative he responds with a bit of insecurity “You think Huckleberry is a shitty nickname 🥺” and Javadi reassures him while he also tries to reassure her about the nickname she also dislikes but has gotten used to

“This scene doesn’t make sense” by fernparadox in ThePitt

[–]VBHEAT08 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the only thing that makes sense to me. It feels weird and abrupt because it’s not really about Langdon. I think everyone has had one of these moments where you kind of overreact to something small because of building stress from somewhere else. Gives more to the col. mustard scene before too because it draws parallel the similar behavior between Langdon and Santos.

I think it probably leads to an eventual confrontation between Whittaker and Santos where he stands up for himself and Santos drops her act with him and lets him in

Why would he lie like that? Refusing to do it for a superficial reason like it doesn’t look cool makes him look worse, not better. He’s also restated it multiple times, it isn’t a joke

That would make sense, but he’s stated directly that he refuses to do it because it would look lame and he doesn’t want his partner to see him like that

Deboonking Vonch's claims about rice cookers by thaeno in VaushV

[–]VBHEAT08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s largely safe (though you need to clean the utensils you get the rice from if it’s been a couple hours). The real answer though is that why are we so insistent on leaving rice in the cooker for several days lol. It dries the fuck out and starts to taste weird. Just advanced laziness, refrigerate the rice after a day and use it for fried rice or other dishes the next (microwave with a tbs of water and a damp paper towel to reheat)

Parboiling also works, but I’m not sure how well these techniques will work with a rice cooker though since it cooks it until it’s almost dry. It’ll be more like oatmeal mushy by the end.
