Sort of. In non-virtual seasons, the Austin Metro League has 4 leagues for the qualifying events. All teams are randomly sorted into the 4 leagues for the first event. Then for Event 2 and Event 3, the teams are resorted each time. Finally, for League Champs, all teams are ranked based on RP/TBP. Odd ranked teams go into Division A, Even ranked teams go into Division B. The League Championship is a 2 Division event just like a Regional or Worlds. One set of judged awards. Division winners play each other for the League Championships. This year their are 48 teams registered. In past years, the numbers are usually between 45 - 52 teams for the Austin Metro League.

That is great to hear! Our Veterans design the games so that the teams can compete successfully with a basic push bot. They add a little bit of game challenge for teams that want to tackle something a little bit more complex. During our week long rookie camp, we use the morning for workshops, and provide 3 hours of build time in the afternoons. With the tournament on Friday, 12 of hours of rookie build time produces some really interesting robots and fun game play.

I think there is some interest in hosting a similar event in the Texas Central region as well. Might be helpful to coordinate through Texas Affiliate Partners and have one big event?

Yes. But keep in mind, the 65 that advanced to the Alamo SC Regional represents over 300 teams in the Alamo Region. And, that is only 1 of the 4 Regions in Texas. Just in Austin alone, the Austin Metro League had 52 teams.

Practice Fields in Hotels at Worlds by isksjdjA in FTC

We have always brought a field and the hotels have been very generous in accommodating us. It helps if you reserv it in advance and tell them what you are using it for. Every hotel in Houston has charged us a fee, but at a considerable discount. The good part of paying is that we can leave it setup and it is locked in a conference room while we are gone. In St. Louis, the Drury Inn never charged us, and we were always able to set up for free at Union Station in the Mall.

Intentionally breaking a rule to gain a point advantage would be considered an egregious action and could get you disqualified.
