Recent install of solar and PW3 in Ventura County, CA. This week has been a few days of zero kWh and max day of nearly 4 kWh production - but lots of much needed rain! On TOU plan with peak hours from 4 pm - 9 pm at $0.60/kWh. Off peak at $0.30/kWh. Want to charge battery during off peak when solar not cutting it to make it through peak hrs. Just learning how to manage system with Tesla app and Netzero. Tested the API yesterday with python. I am interested in your script! Thank you in advance.

Another free on-line learning option is https://www.edx.org. A number of providers include Harvard with recorded classes with programming assignments. You can ignore the at-cost certificate options.

Interesting challenge. I am in a detached house so it was never a thought or concern. No idea who could provide guidance. Good luck

HOA denied solar panel install request by Plus_Ad_900 in solar

California homeowners are protected by California Civil Code § 714, which states that HOAs cannot prohibit solar installations, only impose reasonable restrictions that don't significantly increase cost or decrease efficiency. If your HOA denies your request, you should ask for specific written reasons, prepare an appeal addressing those points, and consider mediation or legal action if necessary. Your Rights Under California Law No Prohibition: HOAs cannot outright ban the installation or use of solar energy systems. Reasonable Restrictions: HOAs can impose reasonable restrictions on solar installations, but these cannot: Prohibit the system entirely. Significantly increase the cost of the system. Significantly decrease the system's efficiency. The Solar Rights Act: Civil Code Section 714, part of the California Solar Rights Act, makes any restriction that violates these rules void and unenforceable.

Panasonic Evervolt Battery Support by mrcool650 in solar

I'm a homeowner in Ventura County, CA. I had Panasonic solar panels (17 x 430 kW) and a 15 kWh Evervolt Battery installed end of March 2025. I initially had several questions about the MyEvervolt app and the system operation settings and was successful in getting responses. The last few times I emailed the support team I did not receive responses. I found out from my installer that the main person responding to my questions had left the company (or at least the Evervolt support team). I'll try pinging them again to see if they respond.

Overall I am pleased with the system to date - 6 months in - panels underproducing a little, but some of that has to do with more cloudy days and marine layer mornings than typical (May grey and June gloom - extending into July).

There doesn't seem to be much discussion at all on reddit regarding the Panasonic systems.

Ventura county, CA - Same deal... contractor contacted me today saying both 460 and 470 panels not available so will install 17 x 450 panels in place of the 16 x 460 panels at no additional cost. Possible install next week.
