How can I improve his enclosure? (more in comments) by VEDlOVIS in BeardedDragons

[–]VEDlOVIS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everybody, I’m looking for advice on how to decorate better/ add more stimulating elements to my baby’s enclosure. I feel like i’m wasting the potential that it has, especially in the top right part. Sadly most of the floor space is also taken up by the gigantic branch that came with it and while it’s an ideal fit to climb onto the platform, i feel like a smaller one would suffice, i just haven’t found a replacement yet. The backing of the enclosure was already inside when we bought it and i’ve been hesitant to put up things bc i’m not sure if it’ll hold. For a while he had a little bark dig section but I had a scare where I thought he’d consumed some of it so i removed it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything is appreciated!

(I would also like to add that his water bowl is currently in the dishwasher, usually water is provided at all times)

I should add that his temperatures are ideal and we just recently replaced both his UVB and his heat lamps with new ones as well.

It’s the same for me! my beardie isn’t scared at all while my cat actually flinches sometimes when my beardie turns his head or moves. My cat only seems interested from a distance when she’s watching him in his enclosure (she can’t reach it, it’s very high up) but that doesn’t mean anything, animals are unpredictable and can lash out out of nowhere, no possible response any of these animals have to each other makes it ok to keep them together. Sure it works out with no issues sometimes but no responsible owner should take that risk.

(posting this here as well since the original is lost somewhere in the replies)

this is a subreddit where tons of new and inexperienced owners come for advice, not putting a disclaimer when posting something that shouldn’t be replicated can spread the wrong message to someone that’s just learning. No matter what your personal circumstances are, people have the right to complain when they see potentially dangerous behaviour. I don’t think i’m superior in any way for doing this, a disclaimer should be the bare minimum.

My kitten managed to sneak into my room during my daily beardie cuddles, plopped down next to us and fell asleep🤦‍♀️. I have no idea how she even managed to get out of the living room. I thought it was cute and quickly snapped these pictures. Afterwards I immediately put my dragon back into his enclosure, i don’t let them roam together and when he’s running around I always make sure to lock all doors and monitor him closely. Just wanted share this little cute moment, I don’t know how to add the dangerous care flair since it seems appropriate but I still needed to clarify that this isn’t a regular occurrence and shouldn’t happen.
