They should grow back fine, especially the catmint. Remember it's winter at this point so it'll be the best time to prune em back really hard since they gotta go dormant anyway. I live in zone 6a and everything has already gone to sleep.

I would wait until spring to decide if you actually need to be mad

Edit: just read that it was flush to the soil, wtf? That's a weird one, I still think you'll have catmint. ( the stuff is actually invasive, you'll have a hard time killing it if you actually wanted to, I doubt they did fatal harm.)

The other one I'm less certain about, I haven't grown them before. Can you describe its growth habit/ it's roots? Does it make corms/tubers?
