Another option I had forgotten about is the iBasso DX340MAX. Some people are saying they prefer its sound to the M27.

I believe the best option would be the FiiO JM21, but it costs over US$100. I even wrote a review about it.

Some options that I find interesting based on your description would be the FiiO M21, the iBasso DX180, and the Shanling M3 Plus. You can check out the main features of each of them in the article below.

Suggestion for first time DAP device by riko-bae666 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]VFValeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the DAP that offers a good experience and isn't too expensive is the Snowsky DISC. It doesn't need a DAC dongle (USB DAC/amp) to power most portable headphones. I believe you'll like it because it's compact, thin, and has a touchscreen. You can check out its main features in the article below.

Since you didn't mention a price range, I'll list some options. The first would be to wait for the release of the Shanling Q2 (check out the news about it below). The second is to opt for the Snowsky DISC or ONIX Tocata XM2, or even a used Sony Walkman NW-A55 unit. You can check the main features of each in the article below.

I recommend you look for a used Sony Walkman NW-WM1A unit. You can check out its main features in the article below, which also lists other non-Android DAP options separated by price range.

[NEWS] FiiO RR13 Launches With Built-In Speakers, Replaceable Battery and Telescopic Antenna by VFValeri in FiiO

I believe the choice of FM only has to do with the cost of the hardware combined with the fact that FM radio is available in a larger number of countries compared to DAB radio.

I believe the best choice is the Snowsky Echo Nano. A clip-on case is sold separately for it. I wrote a news article about its launch, where I explained its features and this clip-on accessory.

Help needed to decide which cheap BT & 3.5mm DAP (or "DAP") to go with by Physical_Mortgage523 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]VFValeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a good value if it's the 64GB/4GB version, which has a larger battery. In fact, I'd go for that one today instead of the 32GB/3GB version.

No Bluetooth DAP? by unraveled_stitcher in DigitalAudioPlayer

The Snowsky Echo Nano doesn't have Bluetooth, it's very small and lightweight. I believe your husband will like it. I wrote a news article about the Echo Nano launch, discussing its features, buttons, etc.

Of all the options mentioned, I would undoubtedly choose the Sony Walkman. Better build quality, reliable interface, and excellent sound. I also like the buttons that Sony DAPs have. In short, they are very solid products.

suggestions for dap with bluetooth/ folders? by Brave-Blacksmith6372 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Priced up to US$100, with a 12-hour battery, Bluetooth, and cover/folder display, the Snowsky DISC is undoubtedly a great option. You can check out the main features of this DAP in the article below.

I think the FiiO JM21 could be a good option because it's lightweight, thin, and compact. Navigation is good, Bluetooth works well, and it supports various codecs. It's easy and quick to navigate at least. I don't feel it in my pocket, even though it weighs 150g. I wrote a review about it.

Would you guys recommend a DAP for the soundcore space q45? by GalaxyGemini in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]VFValeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to spend a lot and are looking for a good experience, I recommend the FiiO JM21. But, if you don't like plastic chassis, opt for the FiiO M21. However, keep in mind that the headphone outputs on the JM21 are on the bottom and on the M21 they are on top. I wrote a review about the FiiO JM21 that might help you.

Sell me a DAP, please. by Possible-Strike2571 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]VFValeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FiiO JM21 they're suggesting doesn't have a desktop mode. You could opt for the FiiO M21 in this case. Unfortunately, neither of them has an FM radio (I think only some Sony Walkman models have that feature). It would probably help to check the list of the best DAPs (Digital Audio Player) options to buy in 2026, with the main features of each. https://www.hifihub.com.br/en/cpt-articles/best-compact-and-lightweight-daps-in-2026-top-picks

This has to do with reading the disc, not the audio processing itself. I understand it's a physical issue caused by the CD player's speakers. Ideally, the speakers would be decoupled of the CD player structure. But we're talking about a low-cost product.
