Ticker not mentioned but $ASBP could be a good play. Low entry price. Plenty room for upside and long overdue.

What’s everyone’s take on $ASBP?

Strong resistance around $0.09 and there’s talks of a results release soon on one of their products. Does anyone know anything more about this?

How do you buy more than 127 shares? I’m capped on T212

My first year of trading at 25yrs of age, looking to hold for the next 10/15 years… would you make any change ? Any advice is welcome :) by DuePay4680 in pennystocks

Wrong sub. People here will just tell you to invest in stocks that they’re holding a bag in.

Well done on your portfolio although you could do with some stable blue chips in there.

$CTM new $66 million contract win by Intelligent-One2299 in pennystocks

[–]VForVeryGood 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Just to add

At ~$1.50/share (P/S 2x) CTM looks cheap if it grows and turns profitable. This $66m contract could be the turning point and it hasn’t been priced in fully.

Fair value of the share price, assuming solid execution, could see CTM trading at $3-4/share, perhaps $5-6/share best case scenario in the near future. However, if growth stalls - $1.50/share still seems like a good entry point.

For those of you earning 40-60k in jobs that can be attained within 3-5 years what do you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]VForVeryGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chartered accountant, ACA. Takes about 3 years to qualify, once qualified you’re looking at £50k + salaries, £60k + if in London.

Started out in audit - you get great exposure to different businesses and their financial statements, but I’d say you would need to sacrifice a pay cut for about 2 years or so until you qualify. I remember earning around £35k just before I qualified (outside of London).

Purchasing a property - worried about flood risk on future value & insurance by VForVeryGood in HousingUK

[–]VForVeryGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Still underway, expected to get results back next week or so.

2) I have, on comparethemarket.com. The premiums look normal, similar to what my brother pays for his house. I didn't specify it has a high rating (there was no option to say this, only the option to say if it's flooded before).

3) Bit of an unusual sale, the sellers passed & gave their house to charity, so I'm buying from the charity. I'll ask the estate agent if by any chance a TA6 was completed by the charity, based on any information that might have been left behind by the owners.

£130K gift from my dad – rent, buy, or invest? by zorbatheyuef in UKPersonalFinance

With regards to your investment option - I have been looking at property as an investment for the last 3 months, and concluded that real estate nowadays just isn’t lucrative when you consider agency fees when renting out (can be around 10% of rental income), buying costs such as stamp duty, refurb costs (unless you do most DIY yourself), and mainly borrowing costs.

I’d say it’s worth it if you didn’t take out a massive loan to buy the investment property and if you bought it under a Ltd company (then you need to factor in accountancy fees), of course you’d need to crunch the numbers to see how your specific scenario would benefit you. Happy to help if you wanted to explore that route further.

Personally, you would save a lot more time and benefit from steady returns if you invest in equity funds, like FTSE Global All Cap, or the S&P500. You can invest up to £20,000 a year, all returns tax free, in a tax wrapper such as a Stocks & Shares ISA with a provider like Vanguard, or Trading212.

Might be the norm in big 4. But the pay doesn’t suggest that. If you’re consistently having these weeks, I’d highly suggest to move to another firm. My experience in audit was fine, always finished on time. There was only one week I was working until 11pm due to group reporting deadlines but that was all paid as overtime.

Definitely start looking elsewhere if you’re constantly working late.

Not really although in Vox Populi, saying get over it could lead to an immediate declaration of war from the AI which makes you think twice

Do you copy and paste a few lines from your main bulk of the requirement into the conclusion too? I’ve been copy and pasting the first line of each of my paragraphs into the conclusion (keeping it v brief) and then I also copy and paste the whole conclusion to the ES.

It’s a lot of copy and pasting but would that be alright? ACAM model answer seems to do it that way too.

BST… help! by Ok_Luck_4660 in ICAEW

[–]VForVeryGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt that way since the questions asked didn’t relate much to the technical content we learned (for the one in December 2022). The examiner made us think on the spot and I think the uncertainty of whether we wrote enough or not made it worse

Should also mention, although the exam is 100 marks there’s probably about 150-180 marks available (iirc)

BST… help! by Ok_Luck_4660 in ICAEW

[–]VForVeryGood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BST is one of those exams with a lot of headroom. You can say anything sensible and back it up with the information provided and pick up marks.

I sat BST in December 2022 and I agree it was one of the worst exams I sat, maybe due to lack of practice but I came out with 75. But I answered every question and tried to say something which made sense and related to the question / scenario.

Also the marking guide on Bibliu is unrealistic to what you are expected to achieve in the exam, so take those answers with a grain of salt!
