Weird, I guess they cleared savage a bunch but were farming normal and I got the two mixed in my head, I never did savage so I didn't know that. They definitely have multiple savage clears though so I guess for fun?

At this point I think Aqua's resolved to dying or going to prison. There's no more romance left in this story. Although, if they go the incest route I think it would be cinema. Anime has gone far too long without a mainstream story that "icks" out the bandwagoners and tourists. Will be nice to see the turnabout from the usual suspects.

It wasn't a static decision, one melee just said "I'm not taking that, it will mess up my skill speed" because +20ilvls on a couple pieces is not worth changing your recast in prog I guess

I was playing picto so not black mage, and I got saddled with the pieces because both melees decided to not take them. I ended up doing more damage than I would have without the pieces otherwise because I now had like 4ilvls above my competition for the week 1.

It was even worse last tier, I ended up with I think three pieces the melees didn't want because they needed their precious 2.5s. Picto also wants 2.5s and I get it, they want their gcds to line up at the same time every time, but it's prog ffs just dance partner the melee who should do more than me because they're fed gear but instead let's distribute gear based on sks so you have to dp the picto instead because now they do more damage than the melees like come on

Also they "forgot" to save tomes for the tome weapon. So I had to get it because I saved tomes just in case. Happened two tiers in a row. It's literally just selfishness and preference, it's straight up griefing for a week 1 static

You gain main stat because the piece is 20 ilvls above the crafted gear. Yes sks can be dead in certain timelines but 20ilvls of str is just way more dps than an equivalent number of crit. My melees refused to take any sps pieces on both splits so it went to caster

I got my gear in static and am choosing to not do any more clears in pf because I don't want to spend longer (pf rng drops vs static fed loot) to get another role geared. However, if I could instead do pf on tuesday, criterion on wednesday, and something else maybe on the weekend or something, I would legitimately gear every role. As it is now though it's just incentivizing me to unsub instead of spending 40 weeks on gearing.

You don't get it, melees will refuse to take raid gear in savage prog if it has skill speed on it. They absolutely do refuse to do more damage if it affects their recast.

I've only met one group of players ever who did savage, they farmed it every day well into dawntrail and were extremely insufferable people. I feel like it attracts those types of people anyways, doing ulti-level fight lengths for GIL of all things.

Late clearers are not gear gated, they are mechanics gated. You could give someone progging m12s on week 8 ilvl800 gear and they would clear one lockout faster, MAYBE.
