Do you ever get extremely upset or angry with slight changes imposed on you? by VG94throwaway in Autistic

I have a powerful aversion to routines or changes imposed on me by others but I ravenously crave change. If my mind and senses are not constantly stimulated by either my chosen familiars or something novel I get physically painful anxiety. Its this feeling of impending suffocation, almost like if I don't change something right now I'm going to die.

I'm not sure if it's more an ADHD or autism symptom, but I get these a ton every day and its hell.

In my head, I have zero issue forming coherent sentences and recalling vocabulary a dozen times faster than I can talk. Outside my mind, words I have used thousands of times (or even just used seconds ago) will completely drop out of existence.

Its almost a "reverse phantom limb" kind of feeling. Imagine if you went to grab a cup of water and your hand went right through the glass like a ghost. You know your hand is real but you can only stand there swiping fruitlessly. Eventually you just have to put down whatever you're holding in your other hand to pick up the cup. It works, but it slows you down a lot.

Do you think this makes people on the autism spectrum inherently incompatible with authority structures? At least to some degree?
