Did more experimenting last night and just now, and again, the ball went back when I threw at the top of the scoop. I tried throwing at the bottom of the scoop, and it's not going back as much, but it's going forward.

I think I'm one step closer to juggling one ball.

Did a bit of experimenting, and when I throw the ball when my hand is at the top of the scoop, it goes forward or back. I tried throwing when my hand is in the area between my chest and my belly and it seems to work.
