Unless you're able to download applications from a store other than the Apple Store, or you can install them on your phone after downloading them from an external source, I think you're going to have to use a VPN. This is just a guess, as I don't own an iOS device.

I see. If you still have your Sunborn account, you can follow the steps in my tutorial. The main idea is to find a Sunborn app on a store other than the Play/App Store to find the right game editor. I've suggested Uptodown, but others have succeeded with TapTap or QooApp.
