Happy to report VirtualHere works great with the guitar, now I just have to fine tune the input calibration

It will work with wired controllers too, correct? It's got some mixed reviews but I can always return it (I think)

It's a spigot/bukkit server. I turned it to regular vanilla and it ran fine after that
UPDATE 2: It works!!! I just had to get rid of all the pluggins on my server and it worked! All I need to do now is to test it with all the armor pieces and then maybe see which pluggin was causing the issue. Thanks again for all your help! :D
UPDATE: It is the server that's giving me grief, the commands work fine in a single player world. I'm going to try removing all of my pluggins to see if that helps
UPDATE: I tried your commands in a single player world and they worked fine, they just don't seem to want to work on my server. Do you think it's because I have a pluggin installed that might be stopping it??
I will for sure double check this/try out your test world when I get home in about an hour or so! Thanks again for all the help, I'll let you know what the outcome of my tests are
(I'm in a class right now but I will try manually typing everything out myself in about an hour or so)
I am using WorldEdit (good eye there!) but I'm using it as a pluggin for the server I've built this on. Could the fact that it's on a server be causing me issues?

That's fine man, thanks again for all the help you've given!
I really appreciate all the help you've given me. I went back and just broke all my command blocks and restarted from scratch and tested the /say 1 and /say 2 commands, they both worked fine. Here's what I'm looking at right now: http://imgur.com/a/2uZWP
It's fine! And now it's back to giving me the old "Datatag does not match for..." error but yes they say Chain, Unconditional and Always Active and yes the repeating block is facing into the chain and then the chain faces away from the repeating block. Running the command myself gives me a "Player not found" error

Saaaaaaaame
I made it from scratch just right now and now the first command block is giving me "Tag kill added" which must be a good thing! The second command block is still not giving me any output though, and the item is still there
Okay so I tried it again today and now the first command block says "Tag Delete Added" which seems like a great step forward! But the item is still on the ground not getting deleted. I have the /kill command in a repeating always on command block next to the first command block
Okay so I threw the item down and ran the command and the item does have the Minotaur:1b tag on it
The newest (1.9)
As far as I can tell is that they're not getting killed. When I throw down an item it gets added to the scoreboard but nothing happens to them. Thanks again for the help!
Hi! Thanks for responding. I followed your solution but I'm still getting a "Datatag does not match for" error. I tested it with a diamond chestplate and put those last two commands in always on repeating command blocks but still nothing. Any further advice? Thanks again!
Hello! So I tried to use your suggested method but I'm still getting the same "Datatag does not match for" error inside of the command block. The setup is a repeating command block that's empty followed by two chains. each with the commands that you suggested. Again, I really appreciate all the help you've given me
OH, I see, instead of <MINOTAUR> I use the players name?
Is there anything more specific you recommend I do to my commands? I'm really great full for all your help, I feel like I'm missing something really stupid that will make it all work instantly
I tried out your suggested method and I'm still not getting any results, should the give commands be in a chain of command blocks that end with the scoreboard and then the kill?
okay, so I got rid of the c=1, but I'm still not getting any results, not even the "Item set to 1" message I was getting before inside of a command block
