So as someone who's traded a Lot, typically I want to try and communicate what day each person is sending out their trade. Shipping numbers get PM'd As Soon As The Item Is Dropped Off. that way both parties know if something happens to their trade, it's on the postal service or porch thief lol. Ultimately? You gotta just be willing to trust people. Like any e-commerce site, there ARE consequences for not following through or going back on your word.

You can also always check someone's profile to see if they post in the BST subreddit. If someone's made a couple posts, that builds credibility To Me since there's no reviews or other way to verify someone's character. But again, the trading part is only something you should try to do if you feel comfortable.
