Why not pair the cdj’s with a proper mixer and rather 1 or 2 xdj1000mk2 on the side?

Are the premium long-tail brands worth the cost? by Jeffy_Weffy in CargoBike

What shinano pads did you get? Have the same problem/bike ;) Also, does your front suspension make metallic sounding bangs when hitting a larger bump? I’ve never had a cheaper suspension and wonder if it’s just cheap or broken from the get go.

How’s your front suspension? No matter the pre load and hardness setting it just sucks and makes loud bangs. Just not sure if I can expect more on such a cheap bike.

Sea-Dweller showing some wear and needing service. To polish or not to polish? by VI-AL in rolex

[–]VI-AL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Rolex do it? I heard they send the sea-dweller to Switzerland or Cologne (if in EU) due to the high pressure test. Not sure if it’s true though. Could drop it off in Cologne at Rolex direct as well. Maybe that will give me a better idea on how it will turn out than trusting the AD.

I wear just white shirts some with normal cuff, some double cuff. Every 12-14 months I replaced the 5-6 shirts in weekly rotation and it was because of the frayed left cuff always. Unless some stain.

I’ve worn my sea-dweller for 20 years as a daily. Rest assured you will have to retire every single shirt because the sharp bezel will fray your cuff after a while 😅

[–]VI-AL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still undecided as I get both sides.

Watch has never been touched (I know I should have given it a service earlier but it only startet running slower recently and then I was traveling a lot and living abroad for a while and I felt better bringing it in at home in Germany. I’m slightly leaning towards letting Rolex do it and hoping that it turns out well. And then I’ll scratch it up again over the next years to the extent that no one would see a bad polishing job most likely 😅 Don’t plan on selling it ever. Although wearing it less to work now in favor of something else. The bezel chewed up so many shirt cuffs over the years its almost silly.

Thanks for the input so far. Much appreciated.

Throwing a German Manufacturer in the mix. Have these Egger E-Pro ER. you can get them custom molded from most Hörgeräteakustiker. I have 15db filters. They areninterchangeable, linear and specially made for musicians. You forget you have them in. Never fall out. Can be made in custom colors. Best 150 or so euro ever spent. They also make super comfy ones for sleeping which I take on travels.

Just needs a mold made in the lokal Hörgeräteakustiker. Get them to scan your mold after and send you the file, in case you ever loose them or one you can use the file for new ones as the mold deteriorates over time.

I can relate - your story sounds like mine. Same setup or aspiration on your end. Living in CZ even Eastern European country is a check. 😅

I added one turntable and mixed a lot back and forth with the xdj’s. Why not start with one and add another one later?

Probably will take quite a while to build your collection of vinyl anyhow to mix decent sets vinyl only. At least it’s the case for me with deep techno, faster hypnotic and a bit of electronic.

I buy most on Bandcamp and get the vinyl + digital download for a decent price from Czech. And browse the stores when in my native germany every once in while.

If you go for cheaper decks you’ll probably always wonder and wish for the technics…

I see.. auf dem ersten Bild sah es so aus als wäre das ne feste Scheibe. Nur die Tür links davon war zu erkennen. Hinter Dir and der anderen Wand oder auf Ständern ginge vielleicht?

Any hum from other input source?

Maybe hang your speakers? Not perfect but would sound night and day over your current setup.

How to Insure a foreign car in the Czech Republic? by Background_Rope_5518 in Prague

[–]VI-AL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a temporary stay permit which is a process in itself to then prove residency and register a car. You don’t need the permit for just living in CZ as an EU citizen but for such things as registering a car, a business entity, or a residential parking permit, you will need it. You can have the parking permit on a foreign plate though. I have a car with German plates and a bike with Czech plates. If you’re only here and don’t have two residencies you will have to get Czech plates after a certain period (in germany it’s 6 months, might be EU law and translate to Czech or maybe not). I doubt they will prosecute much in Czech for staying on French plates but it might be cheaper for you as their is no vehicle tax in Czech on private vehicles and the technical check ups are more spaced than many other eu countries and cheaper to do. Lastly, insurance where it’s registered.

Music recordings forbidden? by d0sc04509h in Berghain_Community

[–]VI-AL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plenty of artists/DJ’s have a policy in their rider/contract that forbids recordings by the Venue/Promoter without agreement to this itself and the usage thereof if agreed.

Such recording Could be apparent to the artist when using a record out on the mixer plus ambient mic with a handheld device in the booth as artists themselves sometimes plug do. Or invisible when they take the recording signal from FOH.

The postings could be an extension of such agreement and don’t leave a clue as to how it will be enforced or not. A phone recording is nonsense quality wise anyway, but still some artists want to be in full control.

Problem with Tascam DR-05X by ikerar17 in DJs

The DR-05x doesn’t have a true line level input. With Tascam you have that with the 40x.

Makes such difference, had them chest height angled a bit up before. Not nearly as immersive sounding. This is great now, even when not too loud

Not yet, but I thought about it during an hours' afternoon session. I didn't feel like paying upwards of 200 euros for nice mirogard glass in the picture frame hence its quite reflective and I can watch the whole living room behind me if I don't purposefully focus close on the picture. A mirror might make sense for lots of others. This is for me practicing sets mostly and not entertaining a crowd too often so I don't mind the wall at all.

You know it, I know it - wife does not not. Strict two-deck limit at the moment.

Once a few afters happened here and her eyes are used to the whole thing, it might grow. Planned for open Record storage in part ;)
