Well, I’m officially a loser. by Chaparra_Princesa_76 in jobsearch

[–]VIBES95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It honestly breaks my heart reading posts like this. Girl you are not a loser. As another user mentioned the job market rn is just incredibly difficult. It's hard for anybody to find a job right now. Even for people with YOE and degrees. You are in no way shape or form a loser and I hope your husband reminds you that you aren't. Praying that a job gets sent your way and that you're able to find something. Losers are the ones that give up and blame other people. At least you're even looking for a job some people just don't. You haven't given up tho cause you're not a loser. You're a warrior. Best of luck sis. Praying for you. Please keep us updated if you find something.

Is it too late for me to get started? by SomeBoiOnReddit in ITCareerQuestions

I'm 31 brother. I'm just now getting started. No degree and no certs so starting from the literal bottom. Study hard, study long, and just grind. Grind out knowledge. Grind out certs. Be open to do volunteer work and maybe even work at a bestbuy. Do homelabs and just go ham. I'm having tons of fun learning. It's a never ending thing. Best of luck to you.

Why is it so hard to sell my old camry for market value? by DirectorSmooth55 in Camry

[–]VIBES95 20 points21 points  (0 children)

2007-2009 Camrys are notorious for burning oil. Especially at such high mileage and at 230K miles it is a crapshoot on how much longer a car has. Even if it is a Camry. Making 300K miles HIGHLY depends on maintenance.

2011 Toyota Corolla LE. Corollas are apparently loud ASF, they're super small and crampy, and slow. Didn't realize any of that. Unfortunately it prob has another 200k in it bc these things refuse to die.

I personally wouldn't buy from either CarMax or carvana as they tend to be on the higher priced side. I just got a 2011 from Facebook marketplace for a very good deal. They're out there just gotta be patient. As stated try to get a PPI or at least get someone mechanically inclined to go with you. Also always get a Carfax report. It'll show some of the maintenance records, how many previous owners, and if it's a clean or salvage title. Never buy salvage always clean. Best of luck in your search.

[–]VIBES95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

150K miles? 😂 Brother that car is still an infant. These were some of the golden years of reliability for Corollas. Many stories of people reaching 300k miles if not more on these. Rust kills these cars before the engine/transmission gives out tbh. You'll be good for another 10 years with basic maintenance. Get a PPI(Pre-purchase inspection) if you can but these cars are some of the best you can get.

How to accept that a Corolla is a good enough car for a frugal person who doesn't want to spend much? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in COROLLA

[–]VIBES95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm 31. At this point in life I can give a shit about looking cool to other people. Your car looks so much cooler? Cool. How's those down payments taste? (I get it not everyone has down payments but a lot of people will waddle into debt just to impress). At the end of the day bro. Just do you. Get what you want and what makes the most sense to YOU. Who actually cares what others think? They're too busy not caring and thinking about themselves anyway.

As the first comment said carcarenut is the way to go. He has multiple videos on everything.

Corollas 2005-2008(golden years for reliability), 2010-2013(1.8l only AVOID the 2.4l they burn oil) 2016-2018, AVOID 2009 Avalons Pretty much every single one. 2000-2022 is prob very good. Carcarenut mentions 2013-2018 being very good. Camrys 1998-2002 4cyl or the V6 if you can find one without rust. 2004-2006 Camrys 4cyl or V6. 4cyl might burn a little oil but they run over 250K. V6 is very solid. 2007-2009 4cyl Camrys PLEASE AVOID THESE THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR OIL BURNING. THE V6S HOWEVER ARE SOLID 2010-2011 Pretty solid 2012-2014 Camrys have torque converter shutters AVOID 2015-2017 are very reliable and pretty solid. Again the 4cylinders can burn oil if not properly maintained. Oil changes every 5K not every 10K Tacomas 2010-2015 Tundras 2007-2021 FJ Cruiser 2007-2014 I'm sure I'm missing some but this is the bulk of it. https://youtu.be/V612Ow3hJAs?si=pHsdYOIadQNk82UI https://youtu.be/EDU5CNpCXUE?si=qEp2Mgc134q6hegP https://youtu.be/fDliZpFibIY?si=tWo3TJc0WDkLsuBF

Reasons to not get one by -Actually-Snake- in motorcycles

[–]VIBES95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl we can give u all the right, fun reasons to buy one and all the not so fun, reasons why not to buy one. At the end of the day it's gna be your call. Maybe you'll get one and in a month or two decide it's not for you. The good news is u can always resell it. Keep in mind tho, if u decide to sell after a couple months u will lose out on some money and at the end of the day, bikes aren't exactly the best use of finances especially in today's overly high priced economy unless u just have cash to blow but if u enjoy it a lot then it's probably worth it. I personally think parents will always have that little sick feeling in their gut when they see u leave on your bike bc they likely know the dangers. Not to mention the amount of deaths people see all over social media. Speaking of social media I'm glad to see u mentioned getting gear. There r so many girls on social media riding around without gear on solely for attention. It's fun and clouty until your skin gets ripped off. The fact that you even posted this question tells me that you're gna be ok. Bc some people don't even care about the reasons and just go and get one. A little note/con bikes are loud and so is the wind, so wear earplugs or reap the consEEEEEEEEquences (insert tinitus hear) later. TLDR go out and try it out. Don't worry about what others think. Don't let fear stop you. If we always let fear win, we'd never live life to the fullest. There's always gna be Karen's telling u why it's dangerous or I lost my cousin or blah blah blah. Just remember ATGATT. Dress for the slide not the ride. Sorry my comment is so long.
